I have roughly $300 to spend in Gander Mountain Gift Cards. Should I get another barrel for my TC Encore or buy a cheap gun? Here are my top choices in calibers that I am cosidering on buying. 22.250, .300 Win Mag, or a .17 HMR. What are your thoughs and what guns would you recommend or would you just get another barrel for the encore?

I just picked up a Savage 93R17 .17 hmr. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet, so I can't comment on the accuracy but the Accu Trigger is flat out awesome. Dry firing with dummy rounds feels every bit as good as my Rem 700. You can pick one up for around $250.00 or so and the reviews on them are glowing. It makes a good replacement for my .22lr 10/22 which has been donated to my nephew. I was considering going with a .22/250 or a .223 but decided on the .17hmr just for the cheap (relative to centerfire) rounds plus the high velocity and distance made it a good choice for plinking and small game.

Either option really. If you would like to own a new gun, try a NEF Handi-Rifle in any of those calibers. Or just get a Encore barrel. The Handi-Rifles are excellent rifles for the money though.

I can't recommend you anything unless I know what you are going to use these guns for. Just to have? Hunt? The .300 Win Mag is a good gun but I am staying away from all the new crazy bullet sizes.

For me,
Shotgun, 12 gauge.
Rifle, .308 or 8mm Mauser.
Assault Rifle, .223

I would get a muzzle loader. Everyone should have at least one muzzle loader. If you ever get tired of cleaning it you can hang it on the wall for a great decoration. People will ask lots of questions that you can answer as the resident expert. Spices up parties too.

Save another 100 dollars and get a RIA 1911.

Go with the 22-250.* I prefer Remington or Savage myself.*

To be brutally honest with you, if it was me, I'd get ammunition, Prices are continually going up, with more price hikes expected by early next year.If you reload, then buy components ie, brass, powder, primers , projectiles etc.
