How come the Punishment for the snake by God was to crawl on its belly for the rest of its days? i dont get it

Satan took the form of a serpent to tempt Adam and Eve. The serpent originally had legs like a lizard. but God put a curse on it and from then on it had to crawl on its belly. Science supports the view that snakes once had legs. Evolutionists would probably claim they had lost their legs through evolution, except that such a loss is actually the opposite of evolution. Evolution is supposed to create new features with the addition of new genetic information. The loss of a feature or genetic information is not progressive evolution, but rather a case of devolution.

I agree with Primoa1970. That was the snake's punishment.
A side note: When you place two wires to the end of the snake's body and give it electricity, two legs will come out. (We did this experiment in college). It was kind of weird, but it proves that snakes had/have legs.

Crawling is the lowest form of submission. So the writer was probably trying to get over the point that even satan has to submit to god.

First of all if you don't understand something in the Bible than I would suggest
that you do these things.First of all read what it says,as well as what took place before that.If you stll don't understand than ask the pastor or who ever preaches at your church.
If I am right about what you are talking about.That took place after satan came to Eve,and Adam and caused them tyo eat the fruit of death.

Joslin is remarkably silly, a snake is not a lowly animal, it's been around for millions of years and has evolved into a highly specialised killing machine using either complex toxins or constriction. It has never had vocal cords so it could never have spoke to Adam or Eve, just shows you HOW STUPID THE BIBLE IS!
