I have tendonitus in my left thumb. This is my writing hand. In the past I have recieved steroid shots for pain but now it is back. Are there stretches and exercises I can do to deal with the pain? Are there things I can do to lesson the effects? I am not in a position to get another shot till December.

You need to relax the muscles. The best way to do this is soak your hand in hot water with 1c. of Epsom salts. Do this for fifteen minutes three times daily. Afterwards massage an analgesic cream into the area. This is going to take down the pain, of course it's not as good as an injection, but it will keep you from having so much misery. be sure you take an anti inflammatory medication every day as well.

Epsom Salt is great. Try using a lotion form that is easy to apply so you can use it anywhere.
