Hey....i had the same situation. I had 4 teeth removed and there was no pain involved except for 2 teeth but that was because they were baby teeth that had fused with my bone because there was no permanent tooth beneath. As far as healing time, it'll take about 1-2 weeks before the hole in the gum starts to seal. After it heals the dentist will have you wear rubberbands to "pull" the teeth in to fill the gap. Be very careful though, I was told the overbite would be fixed, and now my overbite is worse, I was told to have surgery, I refused, and now he's gonna take em off and I'm stuck with a BAD overbite(I can stick my tongue thru it) and my bite is completly messed up(only one side of teeth touch) Sorry about the negativity. Juist givin you a heads up and you might want to get a second opinion about the removal in regards to correcting the overbite

When the teeth are pulled it won't hurt much since you'll be on serious anesthesia. After that wears off it will hurt a ton, icing the area on the outside of your cheek where it was pulled helps and you'll most likely have to take some pain killers(Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, not all at once).

It shouldn't take too terribly long to heal, the holes should close up in a few weeks, besides the fact other teeth will move over it during braces. The pain should go away before the holes do, unless you mess with the holes a lot with your tongue.

During the procedure they will numb your mouth with Novocaine, so the actual taking out of the tooth doesn't hurt, all you will feel is pressure.

After the Novocaine wears off their will be some pain, and the area will be sensitive for a little while.

For healing I believe it only takes about 1-3 weeks, depending on you.

It sounds like it will hurt a lot, but really it isn't that bad of experience. Don't worry about it and good luck.

It will not hurt having the proceedure as they are removing the teeth you will feel big pressure only. After you will be sore for about 2 days. Take Advil it helps with any pain and inflamation. You will need to eat soft food like pasta, yougert. mashed potatoes, soups. The day your teeth are taken out you Cannot sip through a straw or spit out. Hope this helped

it depends on the individual. I had two teeth cut out (where they had to cut away part of my gums). I only had local anasthetic and had no pain afterwards. The worst part was the pressure and noises during the procedure. I was a little sore the next day, but it didnt hurt.

Because diabetes had reeked havoc on my gums, I had to have 20 teeth out [I now have dentures].....and I did it with nothing between me and my dentist but good old novicaine.

Believe it or not, for the amount of teeth I had out, I had very little pain, just a little discomfort when the novicaine began to wear off.

If your worried about pain, ask your dentist for a pain med.....I'm sure he/she will accomodate you.

Yes it hurts. About a week to heal over and several for the gums to completely harden. No biggie but just be ready for some pain and lots of advil/tylenol mix.

It doesn't hurt while it is happening, but for a few days to a week afterwards, it does hurt. In about ten days you will notice that it doesn't hurt anymore. Aleve is good for the pain.
