I have 2 boys, (Eric,The oldest 11,and Jake,The youngest,9).We are very bored.Except,Jake has a Fractured leg & ankle.So thats limiting most things.We played wii,Nintendo Ds's...We've Just played Monopoly..The game of life...

Get creative..if playing board games and nintendo have you down, it is nothing more fun than getting messy from a art project. Make playdoh with the boys so they feel like they help contributed and then start making objects. Start a game of fast drawling and whomever can draw the fastest gets a point and top point person gets a prize or can pick next activity. If Arts doesn't work...then taking old clothes and making puppets for a puppet show does...they make their own and then do their own puppet show. Tell them to spend an hour decided what they want it to be about. Kids like to cook too...it lets them try new things and they also know that they get to taste the goods before Dad gets home. Take them to a cider mill, go for a drive in the country. Try out a new recipe in the kitchen. Have them go through the cookbooks and find something and get creative. Go to a place that lets you do your own pottery and paint it. See if there are volunteer opportunities at a nursing home to read to a shut in or a patient. Visit the kid's ward at a local hospital and have your boys play games with the kids there. Great chance to teach generosity and volunteerism. Good luck and hope all heals well.

Make Alka Seltzer bombs. Cheap and easy and loads of fun. Fill a plastic film container half full of warm water. Drop half a tablet of Alka Seltzer in and close the cover fast and tight. Tell the kids to use their whole palm becuase the trick is to seal it fast. After 5-10 seconds, the lids will pop off and the kids will go wild!

Get into crafts. You could make juggling balls from balloons and rice. Or zany animals from horse chestnuts. Try making marhmallow snowmen on sticks, or throwing chestnuts that 'whoosh' as they fly.

Maybe go fishing somewhere....take an art class or some kind of class together.

if your boys are creative, enroll them in painting class. i've done that. we are all talented in drawing. i once brought my kids to a place over-looking a lake and volcano. we all painted the scenery. everyone enjoyed the activity.

Go see a movie, or go to sony wonder museum, the kids will really enjoy it.
