Just because things are getting better doesn't mean that things are perfect yet. Though we are the most powerful military force, we are far from invincible so our soldiers can die it's a tragic fact of war that we will have casualties, I know I'd rather we had no casualties and we wiped the enemy off the face of the planet without any of our outstanding troops getting so much as a scratch but that's unrealistic unless we dropped a nuke on them which would cause a lot more issues because then liberal wimps would be crying about overkill and "inoccent" people over there. cuz we're at war and people die. The real reason we're in Iraq, that we can't tell you because it isn't exactly ethical but it is desperatly needed: Yes, privateers and companies are getting rich off war as they always did, and gov't benefits somewhat, but the real reason is that Iran is the true threat, and we need as many American-controlled zones as we can get to surround Iran when the time comes. Like it or not, pretty morals and ethics don't do much good when a fanatical, doomsday seeking wacko has nukes and long range missiles. Bush has many flaws and this country takes forever to correct its wrongs, but eventually we get it right, and you need to support your country because we are protecting you, and the alternative is much, much worse.

The US Military lost five men because they are involved in a war and unfortunatly in war people die, the real question you should be asking is why is the coverage of them dieing so big but we really didn't hear that troop deaths actually declined in September and October and that violence in Iraq is actually going down.
