k first off let me tell u that im black and i like this guy who happens to be white, race isnt an issue for me but i think it should be something that u guys are BOTH ok with. secondly I dont know this guy personally at all i saw him and i liked him immediatly.. im planning on approching him by introducing myself. Im new to the school so i guess it wont be all weird to him.. anyways heres what im going to say.
Hi whats your name?
my name is kesha
im new to the school
k, chilling with me at lunch (im telling him instead of asking him because it doesnt give him the option of saying no, usually works)
have u ever dated a black girl?
do you want to? (date a black girl)
can i be ur first?
im answering according to how i think he would respond, im like 99% certain hes never dated a black girl even though his friends are mostly black, im also pretty sure that he would be willing to date a black girl, but im not so sure if he would want to just jump into a relationship

Would I be flattered? Sorry, no. Reread your considered question to him..."Have you ever dated a black girl?" You may not be seeing the implications in the way this is worded but it is very wrong for several reasons. No need to dig deeply into all that. No doubt he can see you're black and that you're a girl. Just ask him to the coffee shop, or museum, or something. Maybe you'll end up being b/f-g/f or maybe you'll be good friends. Maybe not. Doesn't matter. I would reexamine your motives first. If it's genuine and is as you say, not an issue about race and all that, then what's the point in making that a qualifier? Are you concerned you may be his second black girl, and therefore not worthy of you? Just be you and go for it.

Omigosh girlie. Just approach him as you would with any guy. Confidence is the key. And please don't ask him if he dates black girls. How about this.. If he is carrying a book ask him about the class and if he likes it. What is he studying? Any teachers/professors he would recommend. And in mid convo ask his name. Than throw in your name. Just smile and don't rush things. And don't ask him for his number. Wait until the next 3-4 times you see him and than say hi to him and throw in, do you mind if I have your number, I'm new to the school and I don't know much about this area. Also with any relationship I personally would never jump into bf/gf status. You always need to get to know someone and become friends first.. I hope it works out.

It really should not matter. If he already has black friends then I'm sure he will date a black female. Just cut all of the unnecessary stuff and just ask him out - someplace or something specific, like to go hang out somewhere.
Relax and good luck, the worst that can happen is he says no - and if that's the case he would have never asked you out to begin with. I doubt that though, most men would be flattered if a girl asked them out.

Girl, why are you wasting precious time wondering? Just ask the man, and let him decide if he wants a black girlfriend or not. If he does, then have good time. If he doesn't, that's his lose right?
By the way, I don't know why people are so preoccupied with colour, we are after all the same underneath that skin.
Black and White are not considered colors, mix them up with other colors and you get a secondary colors just like mine which is a beautiful GOLDEN BROWN.

Aww-sorry! well from my perspective he seems as if he would be a personable and approachable guy,so why don't you just ask him out (In a quiet surrounding so he doesn't feel 'shy')I don't think it's necessary for you to ask him "have u ever dated a black girl?do you want to? (date a black girl)
can i be ur first?"Just say what you have got to say and go with the flow.Good Luck!

i actually have had someone say this to me.
(well, not verbatim, but pretty close)
she and i eventually had to part ways because she became obsessed with the race difference. not so much in a bad way, like "i can't believe i am dating a white guy" but little things-
"we do things differently" etc. treating me like i had never known a black girl before.
if i were you, i would just leave the racial portion out of your questions. he knows you're black, and most likely, he doesn't care. why make him think right off the bat that you are only doing it because of race.

Introduce yourself, and talk to him a little and see how he reacts, but leave the dating subject until later. It's not a matter of race - I'd give the same advice if the two of you were the same race.

Hello,
Don't worry at all; most guys like all sorts of gals in a skirt and couldn't care less about the race. Also heart and personality and attitude count a lot.
Cheers,
Michael Kelly
