Give it time, all he has know is using a diaper and now you want to change that process. Introduce it slowly, ask him if he wants to sit on the potty but dont force it. I have 3 boys 7,5, and 3. The first two were right at 4 yrs old when before I started training and I switched to cloth diapers for that. I wouldn't push it too far, and you are not the one that needs training, the other post was an insult. Take your time, if he's still in diaper for another 6 months who cares, he wont go to college diapered.

Don't push him too hard. Bring the potty out into a place in the home that he won't be missing as much. I know it's a nuisance, but it'll only be for a little bit! It worked with my daughter, she didn't want to go to the potty because she felt she was missing out, so I moved it out into our family room for about two weeks, at the end of those two weeks, she was potty trained and I was able to return the potty to the bathroom.

Promote rewards! Or even make it fun! Make up a funny song on going to the potty! Praise him as much as possible. Get a stool and see if he wants to try the big toilet. You can get toilet targets to. Tell him to hit the target for a prize. Man I am so glad my boys are done with potty training. We did so many things. They ended up watching there dad do it, and were so amazed by it, they needed to be just like him. Sometimes that's all it takes. Good luck.

staying power is often a sturdy component. the toddler will do it whilst he's waiting and there is no could rush. Reassure the toddler that it rather is okay to experience that way. consistent with threat because he won't flow into the rest room yet will flow in something else I actually have a guideline. consistent with threat you're able to take him and purchase him a potty chair. i be responsive to you are able to experience you're going backwards here so a procedures as potty education yet whilst he has his very own specific rest room then it won't look so frightening. you are able to as nicely have him %. out a particular e book which you would be able to study to him whilst he needs to flow to the bathing room. basically provide him lots of hugs and enable him elect whilst it rather is very nicely for him.

He wasn't born hating the potty chair, you taught him that.
This is why I say, train at age 2- if you wait, you are in for a fight.
Take the damn diaper off him. There is no training needed here, he knows what to do, he is WAAAAAAY old enough.
YOU need the training. TAKE OFF THE DIAPER. Punish him when he "purposely' Has an accident. He is running the show at your house, isn’t he?

Try those training pants/diapers that turn cool when he pees. It's supposed to be his indicator to run to the bathroom. That might be an incentive for him.

We're going through something similar with our two year old.
If he sits on there without complaint, he gets a tiny chocolate treat. He's not actually doing anything on it, but at least he's sitting on the thing.
