Somewhat. I have substantial debt compared to my income. So each paycheck covers my living expenses and very little else. It happens frequently.

Neither of those options fits us. We have substantial cash reserves, use credit cards only for convenience sake, and manage our money well.

neither...credit cards are a bad idea unless you pay them off monthly and dont over spend..always live within your budget
