so i started walking about a month ago i'm on my second month, i walk about 2.5 - 3.5 miles every morning and i love it, i drink nothing but water now i have lost inches and people have noticed that i am losing weight and i can tell b/c alot of my pants that were tight are really loose now and i tried on some pants that i tried on in the begining of the month before i started walking and they were really tight now i can put them on without a problem, this morning i weighed myself and the scale has stayed the same as when i started walking but my clothes even my underwear is loose, i don't care much for the scale as i am seeing the results in my clothes and others are noticing and that just makes me happy enough knowing that i am doing something right, but should i not care for the scale and it may fluctuate from time?? i am just so proud that i am actually losing inches..

Hello Loly,
First of all let me Congratulate you on your efforts and your health accomplishments.
Your best indication of your loss in fat is your waist line not your pounds you weigh.

I use to be focused just on my weight Until I realize that my percentage of fat was going down but my muscle % if you will, was going up. And as already mentioned, Muscle weighs more than Fat.

Your doing good, keep up your exercise routine and eat healthy foods.
Great Job Loly,

May the force be with you.

The same thing happened to me after I bought my elliptical machine. After using it everyday, 30+ minutes a day, for two months, people kept telling me I looked like I lost weight. But I didn't. And my scale is pretty accurate. I think it's simply a case of gaining muscle. And muscle weighs more than fat.

You should definitely keep an eye on the scale...I weigh myself once a week. After I started lifting weights, I gained about 15lbs in muscle, but the inches came off beautifully. Congrats and keep it up!!

many people are proud to be smaller but sometimes just because the scale said you haven't lost any doesn't mean you really didn't and you are probally getting smaller in the waist but your body can't help it's self maybe it doesn't want you to lose what

Keep in mind muscle does not way more than fat.... A pound of muscle is 1 LB. A pound of fat is still 1 LB however fat takes up more space than muscle.............
