Cheap lens, lousy aperture settings. I wouldn't spend more than $60 on such a lens, especially a generic-brand like Promaster.

Depending upon the camera mount, there are better quality alternatives that are probably about $100 to 125.

Save your money, Jack. You could always consider buying a manual focus Pentax zoom lens on ebay. You'll have Image Stabilization since Pentax put it in the body.
