I'm 5'9 (almost 5'10 1m77) and I weigh 119 pounds. My doctor says I should gain weight, but I eat normally (ok I'm a veggie freak) I don't do any physical exercise except for walking from time to time and I do not have any sort of eating disorder. Is there really bad consequences to being underweight?

yes! you can still be healthy & underweight, just not too underweight, that it so much affects your health. As long as you get a healthy amount of calories & healthy food in your day, then yes in my opinion you can still be healthy. Maybe try exercising to put on muscle
