Well, it doesn't exactly thrill me, because I love being conscious on this beautiful planet. However, it doesn't scare me, because I can't consciously co-exist with my own death.

I often think about this as I approach middle age. What will happen when I die? How will I feel. I come to the conclusion that I will feel nothing and I am somewhat unsettled, though accepting of this fact.

In the end I guess it won't even matter what I feel upon death. I probably won't realize what's happening anyway. Nevertheless if a person was to feel something, anyway, what would the benefit be of a momentary experience which fades into nothing? True experience lies in our ability to think back upon it, to deem whether or not it is important and will help us grow. Death does not allow this, it is complete and final. I will only be able to muse about it and ponder the inevitable before it happens.

I doubt that I was scared before I was born. Why be scared now?

One thing I learned from doing a rather frightening job for several years... The only thing anyone has to fear is fear itself.

Actually facing danger, pain, or death, is not frightening in the least.

It is the anticipation beforehand that makes you uncomfortable. Keep that in mind the next time fear starts creeping up the back of your neck.

Dying does not scare me, being forgotten by God does. As long as God remembers me, He can bring me back to life anytime!

No. Why should it scare me? I will not exist to experience it.

Dying worries me. It can be quite painful and prolonged.

Death does not worry me at all.

Layla said it right...if you can't consciously co-exist with your own death, there is nothing to fear. And it's not worth fearing, because you won't be able to experience it.

No, because we won't lose self consciousness...and it will be something better than "before we were born" and even better than "after we die"... :) Nope, not scared at all.
