My puppy is 6 months old today and we have had her for about 3 weeks. She has been scratching ever since and we thought she may have fleas. No fleas found and no dry skin. No rashes, no nothing. I have no idea why she is so itchy. She is a short haired mutt and I can tell she has no rashes anywhere because she has light thin fur. What do I do?

Try a different food.

Do you see any black specks anywhere? Comb her with a flea comb and look at the hair on the comb. Flea dirts (poos) are more usually seen than the actual live fleas - they look like little comma or spiral shaped black specks.

If your dog isn't regularly flea treated, chances are she does have fleas. If you're convinced she hasn't well, even more reason to go to the vet to find out what is causing the problem!

Sounds like dermatitis to me.

Check out this link:

This covers many forms of dermatitis your poor puppy could be experiencing. Take her to a vet. They can test for these types of things.

Believe it or not, many of these are caused by poor, cheap food instead of owners spending money on good, nutritious food for their animals. Be sure you are giving her good quality food!
