while the soldiers and military are off fighting in our steads, and they can not be with their families and loved ones? Are you thankful that you can wake up each day and know you'll have a life, while they are over there not knowing from one moment to the next what their fate will be? Let us take time this season, more than once, to thank goodness we are safe and have the luxury of complaining while others are risking their lives in a war that hasn't shown much purpose. Let us take time to send warm vibes to those so far away from home. Let us take time to think about how fortunate we are compared to those in the would who would give anything to have our problems rather than their own. Let us take the time so send a quick thought of peace to all those suffering in the world today. Can I get an "Amen"?

Amen!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is nice to know some people still care and not everyone views their own military as the enemy.

I think one of the most positive aspects of this deployment is how my outlook on life has changed (cheesy I know). But things that I used to complain about, and think were so vital... no longer are. I appreciate the really important things in my life and that trivial stuff no longer bothers me... so when you (not you, persay, but people in general) are cranky because the line to do your holiday shopping is too long, think about those of us who don't get to celebrate the holiday. When your boss won't give you enough time off, think about those of us working 13-18 hour days, 7 days a week. When you complain about the price of gas, think about those of us who are walking through the streets of Iraq with 40lbs of gear (nothing like a year of walking to make you appreciate your wheels back home!).

Again, thanks for your support.

Amen and thanks to the soldiers who joined up with the military to help fight those bad guys.
I would never put my life in that situation because I value it a lot more than getting shot at. I would never be able to shoot someone, I don't care how mean they are to other people. Now I suppose if they were shooting at me I would shoot back but it would haunt me for the rest of my life. So why would someone want to put themself in that situation. I guess they are tougher than I.
So AMEN to the soldiers and I hope when they come home they can adjust to a civilized country and get their lives back together. I hope they can forget about all the bad stuff they willingly went over there to do and not carry it all back with them.

You know, I did not fully appreciate how hard it has to be for wives and husbands and families in general who had to be seperated from their families because they were off doing their duty. But after I married my wonderful husband I realised what it means to be truely thankful. I am thankful every day that he returned home from Iraq safely and that he is home with us now. I learned even more what it means to be thankful for friends and famly after being moved away from all I had known all my life to follow my husband to his assignement here in the UK I am thankful for my friends, family, my new friends I made here and I am most certainly thankful for each and ever service member that has to be away from the comfort of their family during this holiday season. I wish that they all return safe and sound to their homes.
So yes you can get your Amen! :-)

You think you are free? You are only as free as the government wants you to be.
