for the past 2 and a half weeks i have had pain in my left rib cage which is now radiating to by back, and it is painful to lift my left arm up. I went to the doctor and he did some x-rays, and now i have a CT scan and blood tests scheduled. I am wondering if anyone knows what this could be... i had a breast reduction on August 10th and have had no problems with pain or anything until now. My breasts are also somewhat sore. A few weeks ago i went to my surgeon because i had pain in my right breast and they said that it did not appear to be infected. My left side is very swollen, but has gone down somewhat, due to the fact that i was prescribed an anti-inflamatory. someone please help, all the answers i am finding online say that it could be some form of cancer... and web MDis no help, it just keeps saying a pulminary embolism, fibromyalgia... soo any help would be greatly appreciated!

This could be just a complication from your surgery. The CT is probably looking for a pocket of infection which may be present and is a complication from the surgery. Sometimes it takes a while to develop. Pain and swelling are also signs of a possible infection present under the skin. I would not jump to the cancer thing right now because WebMD does not know about your recent surgery which complicates the whole picture. Follow your doctor's advice, keep up with the anti-inflammatories and keep your appointment for blood work and the CT. Hopefully, you will have answers soon.

I had a breast discount 6 years in the past while i used to be 17, i didn't get a boost with it, however the surgical procedure used to be well. I used to be in plenty of discomfort for the primary five days after which it slowly went away....you should have no discomfort after 14 days or so. But the health practitioner must supply you a few discomfort killers with a view to aid the discomfort....Good good fortune, having a breast discount used to be the first-class matters i ever did
