I have a chipped tooth, I think it might be a wisdom tooth, and it needs to be pulled. Its causing me a lot of problems. I don't have any dental insurance though. How much do you think it would cost and also...how do I find a good dentist for someone with no insurance?

SAGE,
YOU DON'T NEED DENTAL INSURANCE TO GET A TOOTH PULLED. ALL YOU NEED IS CASH, CHECK OR CREDIT CARD. THE DENTIST MAY EVEN GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE INSURANCE. CALL AROUND AND ASK.

You might want to sign up for a dental discount plan. The company that I represent has a 30 day guarantee, so you could get your tooth pulled in a month and then cancel if you couldn't afford to continue it.

You can sign up and see a dentist on the same day - we will email your membership number to you. You will, of course, receive a membership card in the mail.

I respect the Y!A community guidelines, so I will not post the link here. However, you can find the information in my profile. You can also search for providers in your area before you sign up.

I hope you feel better!

I would check around to see if their is a free clinic. A lot of Cities may have some kind of free clinic. IN Fort Wayne, Matthew 25 is a free clinic for health and dental. I used it many times when I had no insurance at all.

If you work, does your workplace have dental insurance and if so, get it.

For a molar extraction it would think $60.00 to $100.00.

A chipped tooth is not a big deal. And you can improve the situation by using Hydrogen Peroxide to brush morning and night. It will alleviate pain (if you are having any) and make your gums healthy.

It is amazingly inexpensive (get it at the drug store) and will make a huge difference in how your mouth feels.

Call a few dental offices and ask the cost of a simple extraction. It probably won't cost as much as you think, even minus insurance.

best way to find a dentist is word of mouth. ask your friends and familt who they see. give the doc a call and ask about a payment plan and cost. prices vary depending where you are.
