Far to dangerous to laminate stairs, Its bad enough on a flat floor. Try running on that wearing socks! Even if you sand and varnish that can still be very slippery and you cant polish them. Obviously open plan stairs look good in natural wood, but I am still very wary of using them.

My mate has laminated stairs and she and her kids have fallen down them.

Lots of bathroom floorings are wipeable but are non slip maybe that would be a better choice

You can laminate a stairs and contrary popular belief it is not slippery. We had it for a couple of years an no one or animal has slipped down them.

jason is right, most leading brands have specialist stair nosings and anti slip coatings.

I would advise a textured finish floor e.g balterio ambassidor touch. The high gloss finishes can be a little slippy

you can certainly laminate your stair case or even sand your existing wood then varnish it BUT..... be aware you could end up making it slippy ! i would maybe change your carpet if youre that fed up with, its also kinder to your toes lol

Laminate the stair... hehehehe. Now that really made my day!

It's definitely possible but would probably be dangerous.
