Well, I heard the gospel message for the first time. I heard that I was a sinner (which I already knew by experience....) and that there was nothing I could do to pay for my sins. I heard that Jesus died for me (which I had heard before but never like this!), and that all I had to do was repent of my sins and put my faith in Jesus. So I did. My motivation was that I had sins that only He could pay for, and I also didn't want to spend eternity in Hell. Sometimes I wonder if that was the day I got saved or if it was later because now I understand it better...either way I am saved now!

But it's important to know this - the Holy Spirit is the one who motivates a person to get saved. He is the one who convicts us of our sin, and He is the one who helps us to understand the gospel. He opens our eyes to the truth.

After going through a divorce I picked up a book. I picked it up just for something to read in an airport. It changed my understanding of everything and I highly recommend it for motivation. It's called The Source by James Michener. Sorry if I spelled the author's name wrong. This book follows an archaeological dig in the Holy Land.

I became Roman Catholic about half a year ago and this was because I watch Passion Of The Christ. I went to a Church Of England school so I already accepted him but this film was what 'made' me a RC. I then went to mass and found the part of me that was missing for so many years.

Mercy. Perfect Love, even beyond what any words in the bible could say. Holistic outlook, rather than getting tangled up in too much minutia.

I had exhausted all my attempts to live every other way and for every other reason and faith in Christ made the most sense.

There was this girl I was trying to make. She said she would only date someone who had accepted Christ, so I did it.

I accepted orthodoxy not because i was born into it, but because it seemed to me that the most original version of christianity should be the most true.

Sometimes when you're at the bottom, there is nothing else to do but look up. So you do look up, and you find Jesus.
