Why would you even ask this if your doctor prescribed it? Do you really think us in the world know more about it than your doctor? If anything, ask your pharmacist. Meds are what they went to school for.

Fever blisters, cold sores are the same type of Herpes Simplex Type 1. Yes, it really works. If you feel you are about to have a fever blister that burning, tingling sensation. You apply the cream and might stop it from happening or shorten the time to have them from the standard 7 days to half of that.
It also helps with the pain. Abreva works but nothing beats Zovirax which is prescribed by a Doctor .

Abreva works great and it's a little expensive but it's fantastic...tried others and abreva clears it alot faster. It doesn't take much of the creme either.
