Sorry, I'm sure this sounds silly, but I was just cerious after reading an answer from a Muslim;

"I am a Muslim and i want to comment about this.

The punishment for rebellion according the Romans was Crucifixion and for blasphemy its being stoned.

So this proves that Jesus (upon him peace) wasn't changing the religion of the Jews he was abrogating certain things and clearing others. In Islam Jesus (upon him peace) is a Prophet and we believe that it was those after him who changed and separated it from Judaism."

You're right. Jesus never came to start a new faith. He came to affirm the already written laws and clarify God's word because the Jewish people were starting to stray. Jesus came to bring God's message. When he died, he couldn't help the people on Earth personally, so God send another prophet Mohammed, to affirm and clarify God's wishes again. So Muslims believe that Jesus was one of the greatest prophets of all time. After all they believe in his virgin birth, and that he is the Messiah who will come again to Earth one day to judge the people.

Yes, Jesus is a Prophet for Muslims, as it is mentioned in the Quran. He is considered the closest to the Prophet of Islam among the Prophets. There are a number of chapters (suras) in the Quran that talk about his story.

In fact, in the very same New Testament, Jesus presents himself as a Prophet as well.

Salaam!

No, to a real muslim there was only one real prophet and only one God. I need not mention either of those names. But they some time give lip service to other names but they rigidly believe that all that one should know is in Koran. No other book, religion, faith or belief is relevant. However, many of them pick and choose parts of that book to practice in their life because they say that there are many issues intentionally left unclear in there and this is their own interpretation that matters.

Actually I thought so but until recently I have found out that a muslim shouldn't. Let me further explain....................

33 Indeed Allah exalted Adam, Nuh (Noah), the family of Ibrahim (Abraham) and the family of Imran above all the worlds.
34 They were the off-springs of one another. Allah hears all and knows all.
35 Allah heard when the wife of Imran said, "O my Rabb! I dedicate to Your service what is in my womb. Please accept it from me. You alone hear all and know all."
36 When she gave birth to a girl instead of a boy, she said: "My Rabb! I have given birth to a girl," - Allah knew very well what she had delivered - "and that the male is not like the female, I have named her Maryem (Mary) and I seek Your protection for her and her children from the mischief of Shaitan, the accursed."
37 Her Rabb graciously accepted that girl. He made her grow up as a good girl and entrusted her to the care of Zakariya. Whenever Zakariya entered the sanctuary to see her, he found with her food. He asked, "O Maryem! From where did you get it?" She replied, "It came from Allah. In fact, Allah gives to whom He wants without measure."

So here you have the quran, and it says that mary was born without sin. That is really odd because I have been told that muslims believe Jesus was a prophet. So why in the world would mary need to be born without sin if Jesus was just a prophet? I understand the idea, Jesus needed something sinless to live in, but besides that. You are telling your a hypocrite.

Yes and as an atheist I must say that Jesus should be the role model for Islam... having a pedophile as your hero just seems a tad bit backwards and sick. Never understood how people could follow the teachings of a grown man who would marry a 6 year old girl.

Jesus - (peace be upon him ) is held in intense esteem in Islam. We muslims have self assurance in the outstanding start and resurection of Jesus. We (like Christians) have self assurance that he will return....yet... to tell the international that he isn't any longer the son of God and not God himself - he will return to evangelise that Allah is one and Muhammed is he very final and genuine messenger. Jesus - Essa Jonah- Younus Lot-Ayoob Jacob-Yacoob Joseph-Yusuf Adam -Aadam Aron-Haroon ...............Mohammed (the final guy that ever lived) isn't acknowledged by utilising Christians and Jews. Mohammed is the main often used call in the international at present and islam is the quickest turning out to be faith in the international. The bible does point out the comming of Mohammed yet they do no longer elect to have self assurance in it.

Muslims believe in All prophets.
According to Islam, all prophets, including Jesus, called for pure monotheism.

[5:65] Christ the son of Mary was no more than an apostle; many were the apostles that passed away before him. his mouth was a woman of truth. they had both to eat their (daily) food. see who God doth make his signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth

EDIT: to Baptist
You misunderstood the verse: no Muslim believe Mary was sinless.

I don't understand this....
Islam and Christianity, and Judaism came out of middle east. All share very common stories..borrowed from a previous established religion...Zoroasterism
Why fight against each other...when you are not that different from each other?

Yes, it is true that Muslims consider Jesus to have been a prophet. They also say he was not crucified, but that another was crucified in his place.
