I've always wondered what having buck teeth felt like. Anyone out there capable of shedding some details? What does it feel like when you're just resting your mouth? Eating? Kissing? Do you find that people who are attracted to you like you because of your teeth or besides the fact? And, finally, does anyone out there have really pushed out (and up?) bucked teeth and still suck their thumb?

I'm actually looking for answers from people who either currently have buck teeth or had them in the past. As for those who have a compulsion to answer questions in a silly manner, save your energy, I'm serious.

It's not the greatest feeling in the world.

Put it this way, when you rest your mouth you have to strain your lips to cover your teeth and it pulls on the muscles in your jaws, this is why sometimes they just stick out because the person is no longer able to properly close their mouth. This really annoys you and a lot of times you become self conscious of it.

Usually buck teeth cause you to talk strange, sometimes like a slur and a bad lisp. This really gets annoying.

Really eating is no problem unless you have jaw pain due to the overbite.

With kissing, depending on the individual's overbite depth, can cause you to bump teeth with the other person or hit their lip.

I don't really think anyone is attracted to buck teeth, they are not attractive in the least little bit no matter who you are. You are a strange one if you do.

I used to suck my thumb and that is how I had buck teeth in the first place. I wish I would've quit sooner than I did, but either way I'm glad I no longer do it. It didn't end there though, now I have to deal with tongue thrusting..

Just to follow up. I've been sucking my thumb ever since this post (and before too, but not as much) and I can say that my front teeth have moved enough to notice but not enough to be really, really bucked like I wanted. No ortho would do it for me.

Are you making fun of me? Bless you! You must have buck buck buck teeth. The only reason why people have buck teeth is because they suck their thumb! The only way to get them fixed is to get braces.

Perhaps a dentist could help you with this type of question-
its probably uncomfortable for the persons concerned.I believe modern dentistry can improve things, thats if the person is bothered by them.
