Because the Jews never practised crucifixion and why would they want to kill Moses anyway? He is one of the most important figures in Judaism; it was Moses who received the ten commandments at Mount Sinai.
The Romans killed Jesus; they were the only ones ever to use crucifixion. And no, before someone suggests this, they didn't do it to keep Jews happy; the Jews were totally oppressed by the Romans and they weren't in a position to hold sway over them. In addition, the Jews back then may have disagreed with some of what Jesus said but they still respected him as a Rabbi (teacher)
edit to 'arewethe', the bible you tell me to read was written a long time after Jesus died. The Christians weren't going to blame the Romans and alienate them at that time; think about it logically! The Jews had no reason to 'plot' against Jesus; for them he was just another teacher, one of many around at that time.

It's *their* upbringing. Not 'there'.
Just though I'd point that out...it's a pet peeve.
By the way - Jesus was not supposedly crucified for helping people and going against his upbringing. He was crucified because he was considered a threat and believed to be a false prophet.

When you read through the Bible, you will find that God formed covenants with many people people over the ages. His purpose was to get things set up so that when he himself visited earth in human form (using the name Jesus), everything would be ready for him to redeem mankind.
Through Moses, God gave a series of moral, health, social, and ritual laws that were designed to be "pictures" of Jesus, so that people would recognize who he was and what he was doing when he came.
The Bible says that "in the fullness of time" - which simply meaning once everything was prepared and in place - God send his son Jesus. Moses' purpose was not to be the Messiah, but only one of the many steps leading up to Jesus' coming.

Well there are a couple of answers to that. First and foremost, it was Jesus who was the Messiah, the one prophecied to be executed on behalf of mankind ... as a ransom for our sins.
Second of all, it was the Romans who invented the method of execution used on Jesus. The Roman Empire wasn't in existence yet.

lol "paperback.." should read the Bible a bit more and see how many times it's mentioned that the Pharisee plotted against Him. Her statement that the Jews had nothing to do with it is absolutely ridiculous.
Jesus wasn't crucified because He helped people hon, He was crucified because everyone around Him claimed He was the Son of God (He never actually did).

God's purpose for Moses was to lead His people to the promised land.
The purpose of Jesus was for him to be crucified for the sake of all mankind so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Moses was a prophet. Jesus was the Messiah. IN order for the Bible prophecy to come to pass, Jesus had to die on the cross.

Because Moses isn't the Son Of God. It took someone of THAT caliber to take on our sins.
