first of all i am turkish muslim. i dont understand the thing about circumcision is a must some ppl says. Mohammed said: "Circumcision is a sunnah for the men ". The term sunnah here means that it is conform to the tradition of Muhammed himself, or simply a custom at the time of Muhammed. Sunnah means sunnet in turkish , sunnet means circumcision in turkish as well.

so here you go, man don't need circumcision. i have a son and i dont think i want him to get circumcision. he can get it if he wants later as a grown up. what do you think? its a must for muslims?

I'm very pleased to see an open minded Muslim who is unwilling to put his child through a painful and unnecessary act of surgery for his religion. I didn't think you existed.

What if your child grew up and didn't want to be Muslim? Would that be pushing the bounds of parental care?

Circumcision begins time of Abraham. As to pentateuch; God had earlier commanded that circumcision be a sign of His covenant with Abraham (Gen. 17:1-27) - Abraham and Ishmael were circumcised at that time - Isaac becomes the first to be circumcised on the eighth day after his birth
Further difficulties - Ishmael and Hagar are sent away so as not to claim precedence over Isaac (Gen. 21:8-21)
Abraham intercedes for Sodom (18:16-19:38) As for Islamic custom also orders to be circumcised for man. cause Allah(God) is only one.

I am not a Muslim - I am Jewish but I know that for Muslims circumsision is absolutely mandatory just like it is for Jews. The difference is that Jewish observance prescribes to do this procedure on the 8th day (it could be postponed for health reasons for few days or weeks), and Islam requires it to be performed at the age of 13 years. In fact the reason could be found in the scripture. G-d commended Abraham that all males oh his house - his desendants and slaves bought for money be circumsised on the eighth day. And any male of his house who was alive at the time be circumsised immediately. That happened at the time when Abraham's son Isaac was born. So Isaac was circumsised as required on the eighth day. On the same day Abraham was circumsised as well and he was 99 at the time and on the same day Ishmael - another son of Abraham was sircumsised - he was 13 years old at the time. Ishmael is the forfather of the Ishmaelites - The Arab nation. Because he was circumsised when he was 13 it is Islamic requirement to be circumsised at 13.

It was not only for Muslims, but, also for Jews. In those days, it was meant as a way of keeping the organ clean and free of disease. The original Covenant with God demanded that everyone should be circumcised or they couldn't enter the kingdom of Heaven. The new covenant with Jesus doesn't demand that.
Your soul must be cleansed before you can enter Heaven.

Quran advised to follow teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and circumcision was prescribed by him and followed by the Prophet Muhammad (SWS). Some believe that it is not mandatory whereas most Muslims believe it is important and virtuous to follow the tradition.

You see, if you don't do it then it cause problems, in specific health problems water can get stuck there.

You would also have to wash inside it, there are lots of other unnecessary things that you would have to do.

The problem with the Turkish environment now is that is some cases its more secular than Islamic. That's a problem so I am not surprised that you are asking because before this time, it would not even be an issue. Please just get it done and this will help him more. Because if he has to do when he gets older its more painful, not to mention embarrassing!

do as your conscience dictates - It is good to see an open minded Muslim. Since Jewish and Muslim religions have the same origin, then I think it is probably expected, but it is your child, your choice. The only thing I would say is that if you are going to do it, do it when they are young as it is an easier operation. My brother had his done for medical, not religious reasons. It was awful at the time and took ages to heal, but now he is an adult he is glad he had it done.

My man is Algerian Muslim and he isn't circumcised.

Circumcision is also for cleanliness. We are Christian and my sister's husband is and her son. Get it done as a child cos hurts less.
