Year model and engine option would be helpful. The newer plastic master cyl that twists into the square hole? or older style that actually is bolted to the engine wall? Either way your in for some work. cutting and welder necessary to remove the old portion of engine wall and either weld or bolt to the metal to your truck. If the truck is rusted up that far it is time for a new truck.

It was not a recall but in the late 80's they had whats called a "Shop Fix" at Ford dealers for F 250's - 350's. It was a reinforcement plate that was bolted to the outside of the firewall. It should still be available as it was a common problem and probably still is with that many fords on the road.
Ford Basic Part # was something like "2k???"

If you have an old truck (Late 80s) then you will need a kit ford offered. the basic ford part number is 7K509. this should help you
