Can you tell me what train to take to get from Morristown NJ to Brooklyn New York or Close by?

Thank you but the problem is. I dont know what train and station and even how to go about reading it . so confusing.

Where in Brooklyn do you need to go?

Take the NJ Transit to Penn Station as stated in the first answer.

From there, I need to know where specifically you are going to best help you out.

If you just need to get into Brooklyn, get on the A train (the C runs local and will take longer) heading downtown. Jay St./Borough Hall is its first stop in Brooklyn.

If you don't want to say where exactly you are going (for privacy reasons), you can just use the MTA's Trip Planner. For Step 1, just type "Penn Station" and choose Manhattan. Step 2: Type in the street address (no apartment/suite #, no city) of your destination, and choose Brooklyn from the drop-down list. Steps 3 and 4 are self-explanatory. (But for Step 4, if you only want to take the subway, make sure you un-check Local Bus and Express Bus. If you are okay with taking buses, still make sure Express Bus is un-checked (only Subway and Local Bus are checked). You don't want that.)

Remember: you will need a MetroCard, which you can purchase from the attendant in the BLUE (NOT RED) booth(s) in a subway station, or from a MetroCard machine. The fare is $2.00 for a subway or bus. However, with each fare paid, you get 1 free subway-bus, bus-subway, or bus-bus (different route) transfer as long as it is within 2 hours.

To get train schedules you can go to the Morristown station or go to ths link and select the from/to stations and when you plan to trvale (weekday/weekend)

As far as getting to Brooklyn from Penn Station it all depends on where in Brooklyn you want to go. There are different lines in the area that do to different sections of Brooklyn.

Find 34th St-Penn Station on the subway map and you see the various lines and then decide which one will take you to where you want to go in Brooklyn.

Geographically Jersey City is the closest. Hoboken trails second. Newark is not closest to New York city.
