My dad has an old painting given to his mother by a friend around the 30's. I think the name is 'Pears', (I can't really understand the last letter but the name is in good condition), and the picture is in a custom frame so I don't want to take it apart to see if anything is underneath. It's a picture of two women, one sittinng, one standing, selling a chicken. If anyone has heard of this artist or if this sounds familiar please let me know. If it would help I can post a picture of it, so let me know.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Post a picture please. This is to little information to tell you anything really reliable.

A picture of the signature would also be helpful. Close up of one of the faces and the chicken...And the full painting.
