There are two types of EFAs, omega-3 and omega-6. You need both. Some nutritionists consider it important to get them in a certain proportion. Flaxseed oil is great for omega 3's, but not as good for omega 6's. If you're worried, try having some borage seed oil. (It's interesting to note that most studies done on EFAs are done with fish oil. Many of the ones that have compared fish oil vs. non-fish oil have found the plant sources to be better!)

Dude, the fish oil is processed, not squeezed. You dont have to worry about any harmful stuff in it. Just go for a reputed company.
If you are still squeamish, try eating fish like salmon, cod etc preferably grilled. That should be good enough to meet your Omega oil requirements.

My supervisor gave me her bottle of Fish oil because she found something in it's ingredients that she didn't want, she's an authority on medications and a nurse. I'm not noticing the downside tho. You can also eat fresh salmon to avoid the unclean ingredients you're worried about.

When you go to the store look at the bottle to see whats in there. They don't just press a fish and get oil out they have to process it and make it safe for everyone.

You sound like a pure vegetarian. Dont try meat if you dont have balls to do so. And for worms and mercury stuff,
even your body has it right now even though you are perfectly healthy! Do not belive me, check out your ECG on Intenstines.

You can get these pills from reputable manufacturers that test for impurities before they sell the product to the public.

you don't have to take anything like that-just eat healthier and take care of yourself ..i.e. exercise.just think, people were living and thriving well before all these new age ideas came along;my grandmother was 99 when she died-she never took that sh*t I'm sure your grandparents didn't either!actually all this antioxidant bullcrap is hindering more than helping--people can no longer fight off sickness without the enlisted help of their supplements...it's ridiculous.
