There's many theory on how earth was made. You can read it on the book. Or browse the net. One of the famous one is big bang theory.

Because of science there is much we know for certain, there is also much more we do not know. We know that there are trillions of stars and that stars are born and stars die. When stars die they explode into many parts and get scattered throughout the universe in the form of dust and rocks. We know that there are solar winds and other forces that move the debris of dead stars around. Sometimes eddies and vortices form shepherding celestial star dust into spinning masses. Gravity is created by this process and attracts more space detrius to the growing mass which is the birth of a star. These facts are proven and observable so planet earth could and did make itself out of matter.
Wood can not make itself into a boat.
" A building needs a builder" True
"A table needs a carpenter" True
"and this world needs a creator!!" Untrue
Claiming that the world needs a creator is not only false but stupid. If you claim the world needs a creator then the onus is on you to prove it and you can not. Furthermore it begs the question who created the creator and who created the creator's creator etc etc etc add infinitum. And don't say that God always existed because there is no evidence to back up that stupid argument just as there is no evidence that God exists at all.

we make predictions about gravity...........
the results of our experiments match our predictions........
so we know our predictions come from ideas that hold TRUTH.
we've predicted gravity caused the creation of planets
Things don't need a creator (a human creator) like your mommy or daddy.
when two goats have a baby goat, did ALLAH make the goat or did the DNA make the goat? The DNA doesnt have a name or face......... but why can't you say that 2 forms of DNA created a new life form.
gravity keeps us on the earth, not ALLAH
and gravity was the creator of the earth.
See your kinda right, there was a creator, it just wasn't as human as you wished it was.
I expect trees to finally rot into a pile of dead wood ON THE GROUND---- because gravity pulled the rotten tree down. That doesn't mean ALLAH destroyed the tree and put it on the ground.
I also expect planets to form when mass creates enough gravity to attract other objects/matter
FEL FEL quit being such a hypocrite. "Let the one with out sin cast the first stone" "Judge not lest you be judged"
Paul ----- HA! no kidding. I never thought wood could create itself into a boat

What does being an atheist have to do with it? A pile of wood can look like the shape of a boat, but it cannot become a boat without the help of people to make it.
I'm sorry I really don't see a point to your question. Or were you intending to put down someone that does not believe as you do?

Please go and read something on evolution. Anything. Since you will have start from scratch.
Macro evolution happens out necessity. That's why you still get crocodiles who just happen to originate from the dinosaur age. They never needed to evolve since for their purpose and niche they are already at the top. Human intervention may require them to evolve at last, if they survive long enough to.
Wood is an inanimate object. Wood is dead trees. It cannot evolve into anything since its dead.
So the answer to your question is, why would trees need to evolve itself into a boats or boatshape? Why does it need to move across the water? Lots of types of trees [wood] float, they don't need to make a boat because they float already. Those that don't float, don't need to, otherwise they would have.
Boats are human concepts. From and for humans, to travel on and across water. We humans cut down trees and use the wood as material but that doesn't mean that trees need to evolve. After all, the tree doesn't exist and live for humans, it does so for itself and the whole eco-system.
Besides, macro evolution takes millions of years, not overnight. Even micro evolution takes time.
The earth didn't "make itself", it evolved out of matter. Jeez, you don't even know the basic principals of evolution, biology, cosmology, etc. etc.
EDIT: a building needs a builder etc. and thus this world needs a creator? Huh! Your lack of logic is astounding. Besides, even if there were a creator, it might not be your god you know. It could have been aliens, or even evolved humans that left us apes here on earth,or the wizards from Unseen University in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series might have accidently created the earth due to a failed magical experiment. Really, even if it is ever "proven" that there was intelligent design, it still doesn't mean its a god or your god. You prove nothing but how silly religious types are. Besides, why does it matter to you? Isn't your faith strong enough to support you against other believes?

fill a bath full of water then pull the plug. you will notice that the water spirals down the plug hole and as the water spirals down smaller spirals develop on the edge of the main spiral and rotate around it. this is a good facsimile how the whole solar system was formed; the sun, the earth, everything. the 'bathwater' in the case of our solar system was mainly a hydrogen gas cloud, but with enough heavier to form the planets. the plug hole was the sun, sucking in vast quantities of hydrogen and other materials; the eddy currents are the planets which condensed out of the heavier materials. you know this is pretty basic stuff and you should have learned it at school. and it's not as if this is just conjecture you can still see this process happening out in the universe; new suns and planetary systems being born in the gas clouds. just go to a good astronomical site and you will find pictures of it happening.
if you meant life, well a pile of wood is not a dynamic system. if you throw a pile of wood on the floor it will just stay a pile of wood on the floor; though fungus, insects and bacteria will break it down and transform it into components of living creatures, but no it won't build itself into a boat because the natural laws for our universe do not allow it.
life, on the other hand, is formed out of carbon molecules and natural law allows these promiscuous molecules to form a myriad of combinations, these are called organic compounds and form the basis of life. this solar system is swimming in these compounds in gas and dust clouds, in comets and meterors, but most of all on the planets, not just earth but all of them.
the raw materials of life are abundent in this universe and given time and the right environment it would be more surprising if you did not get some form of replication than if you did. i fully expect if we ever develop the technology to find that the universe is swarming with life, probably not too many intelligent life forms but life, neverthless. given the way the laws of the universe work, the absence of life would be harder to explain than the existence of life.
that analogy would have impressed some peasant farmers back in the 19th century but it doesn't hold water now, (sorry for that but i find puns hard to resist).

Why would an atheist say that a pile of wood could make itself into a boat?
If you mean to suggest that this has anything to do with evolution, you're not nearly well-informed enough to have a meaningful opinion on the topic.
This is NOT a "good point", it's childish nonsense. As even some of the religious respondents have pointed out, posting this drivel just makes your beliefs look silly.

hahahahaha...you're freaking hilarious!
Ooooh! Hey! Let me try, okay?
There was an atheist that said to a Christian that he saw a pile of dirt spontaneously make itself into a perfectly shaped human. The Christian didn't believe him. The atheist went on to ask "So if you don't believe that dirt can make itself into a man, then how could God make himself out of nothing?"
It's a better point.
Could some Christian explain?
Or do Christians believe that dirt can make itself into a man?

That's it I am totally converting. Things just don't go around creating themselves all the time, so somebody must have built the earth (doesn't matter how the creator was created) and the logical step up from that is that it was Allah. And then he went to the Middle East a while after creating the Earth and told us random rules about what we could and couldn't do.

first of all, you make it seem like an atheist is not a person. you should change it to "atheist man" and "religious bimbo". and the earth...it was a ball of floating debris in space that happened to get enough gravity after a while to have other space debris slam into it (thus making it bigger, thus making the earth). there is no way that a pile of wood can make itself into a boat. just think about that.
