Are you sure? I lived in two states and the drivers license both started with k626.

No they are different. States all issue licenses independently of each other. Some states use SSNs, others assign numbers, here in NH they make up a code based on your name and date of birth.

Each state does its own driver's licenses. The numbering scheme is different in each state.

No. Each State has it's own way of "coding" license numbers. Some incorporate your date of birth by month and year. My license in Arkansas has no sign of this.

No, they're random now. A lot of states used to use SS numbers, but that's stopped due to identity theft issues.
