I agree. I believe in baptism and speaking in tongues.

This "sinners prayer" idea is only a few decades old and many of us who were saved 60 years ago or more have coined it "easy believism". Personally I don't think that anyone gets saved that way. The main thing that has been removed from salvation by the "sinners prayer" is the lordship of Jesus Christ. Romans 10 tells us that salvation comes by the confession of Christ as Lord. To just say "I know I am a sinner and I accept you into my heart" is foolishness. The important thing is not that we accept God, but that He accepts us. Lots of people accept Him, but their lives prove that He has not accepted them or indwelled them.

Yes. It's turning your heart to God, which is typically done before the words of the Sinner's Prayer are ever uttered. The Sinner's Prayer is what I did when I started trusting God. His Spirit came to me while I said it. But my heart had already turned to him, the Prayer was just the act of faith - outwardly spoken.
To me it's just as the sacrifices at the temple - many did the sacrifices, but few had their hearts in it. And God could tell the difference.

No .But reciting The Chaplet of Mercy will.Jesus said to Sister Faustina,"Say unceasingly this chaplet that i have taught you.Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation.Even if there were a sinner most hardened,if he were to recite this chaplet only once,he would receive grace from My Infinite Mercy" There you go,spoken by the boss himself.
Of course no body believes in Apparitions of Jesus and Mary, which is sad because they are telling us about salvation.
EDIT....The person who gave me a "thumbs UP" has made a mistake.I have never had a "thumbs up" before on this subject about Apparitions. What is going on?

That's only the first step. Once you ask Jesus into your heart, and accept Him as Lord and Savior, then the Christian journey begins. It is a whole re-ordering of your thinking, and actions--a new way of life. It is replete with things that seem contradictory: "To enter the Kingdom, you must be born again", "You must be like a little child to enter Heaven", "To be great is to be a servant to all". How in the world can someone do that? And yet, as the journey continues, you see the opportunities to serve Jesus through helping our fellow humans- ever pass someone begging for money on the street? He says he's hungry. Do you give him money? I do. If he told me the truth, he'll no longer be hungry. If he lied, the sin's his, not mine. I didn't judge him-I took him at face value. Whenever you help one of His bretheren, you help Jesus. So, I give to food pantries. Stop for someone having car trouble. Give a few dollars to someone who asks. It's a long journey, but they tell me the destination's worth it.

Rom. 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (meaning ruler and caretaker of your life, but not just with your words, but with your deeds), and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (meaning that you know in your "knower" that the Gospel story is true), you will be saved."
The "sinners' prayer" is just a tool, a vehicle to profess such a belief. One might also say it is just the first step.

The prayer is the beginning, then we must reject sin and try to live to the glory of the Holy Name of Christ. We must pray and develop a relationship with him, but I think that you are looking at the obvious and acting like it is not obvious. Why would your salvation stop right after you gave your life to Christ? I would guess any intelligent person would know that is just the beginning, Not the end. It just seems pretty basic to me.

Trying your hardest to believe things that are not true will get you nowhere. What did Jesus tell those who asked Him? What does being born again of the Spirit mean? Hint: has nothing to do with speaking in tongues.

Your right there is a lot more. God wants us to have a relationship with him and that is going to take some effort. He wants us to do more for others and a little less for ourselves. He looks at the heart and PROGRESS not the brain and perfection. Continue to seek and you shall find. He will give you the answers when he thinks the time is right. GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS!!

Oh they would like you to believe that. Its so much more than some words, its a whole lifestyle change and systematic exclusion thats required to make them even look at you with good eyes.
