Hiya , thats a good question that is rarely asked in here.
As you read through your answers so far you will often find that people say things like 'The religion you feel comfortable with' .or , 'do whatever makes you happy.'
But is this good advice?.. hardly.!
A person that is genuinely looking to please God will consider things from Gods point of view and not from mans imperfect and often selfish point of view.
So a logical question would be . 'What religions and/or religious practices does God approve of and not approve of and what does he require of me ?'
This questioning attitude is actually vital for a person wanting to please God.
So we can then ask ourselves , ''Would God require man to worship him in truth , or can we make up or follow anything that we like?''
Again , it is obvious that we can MUST worship God in truth , living life by HIS standards , anything else is simply NOT good enough.
Clearly then religions that teach pagan (Satanic) lies such as the trinity doctrine , the hellfire concept or the immortality of the soul are NOT the way to please God.
Religions that also have supported wars or terrorist type of actions likewise cannot be from God.
Some people may also say that 'its OK to do what you like and live a good life and don't hurt anyone ,, and God will be happy with you'., but this too is unwise thinking.
Living apart from God , just trying to do you own thing is what the first human pair Adam and Eve did.
This life style in turn , generation after generation, has given us the disgusting world that we live in today.
So realistically then , do you think that mankind living apart from God has proven to be a wise decision.?
Fortunately Jehovah God has given man the Bible ,, in it it shows and clearly explains why we are here , how the world went down the toilet , and what we must do to please God.
It explains history and gives us glimpses into the bright future planned for 'righteous' mankind.

we need religion in order to give us guidlines to live by and not letting ourselves get swept into temptation and leading down the wrong path. i don't think its enough to just believe in a higher power but to go by your conscience and do what you think is right.
well for me, i believe that Jesus Christ really was the Son of God. He performed many documented miracles. Then there are all these miracles that happen such as statues of Mary crying or bleeding, visions of angels, and bread literally turning into flesh! Seriously I saw that on Unsolved Mysteries and scientists actually ran dna tests on it! There were three children a number of years ago that received numerous visits from Mary. It could be doubted it if it was just one but all three saw the exact same thing.
Anyway to answer the other part of your question, if i believe that Jesus truly was God then christianity can be the only way. Not that other ways can't get you to heaven. I think if you live your life right it probably doesn't matter, but i still think only one religion can be right.

Sounds like you're a spiritualist and not religious.
I don't believe that ANY religion is totally right. I've studied many forms of christianity, Islam, Hindu, Native American beliefs, etc. There are very reasonable and rationale points in each of these. Some agree. Some don't. I choose not to be part of any one religion, but to believe in what makes sense to me. I do believe in God, and I believe that he gave me a brain so I could use it to figure out this kind of thing for myself instead of following blindly behind someone who might not be as capable of objective analysis of a religion he was raised to believe in. So, I consider myself a spiritual person, but not religious because I don't think any religion is totally right. I've found something that sounds wrong in each and every one I've studied, except Native American beliefs which tend to be more open-minded and sensible.
Still, I do think it's better to believe in a higher power and to live according to the beliefs you hold. I also think that God smiles more on people that use their brains to figure this stuff out for themselves.
Just my thoughts.

God made it possible to believe in Him without those that believed in Him to know everything. The reason why I am convinced that Christianity is the right one is because God sent the Holy Spirit to me as Jesus had promised, even though I didn't know about his promise. What I did was begin to trust Him, and He sent the Holy Spirit to me. I didn't have to know, all I had to do was turn my heart to Him and trust Him. I confessed that His Son died on the cross for my sins.
It was a great thing, partially I was not with other people, neither had I gone to a Pentecostal church until much later, and then only once ( it didn't seem right what they were doing).
So even though I may get some things wrong about Christianity, even though I do not know everything about everything, I can still look in the Bible and trust God for what He promised.

I don't think any Relegion is correct. MY theroy is, how can you put your faith in some one who's so bad with money? I mean, every where you go, people are raising money "for God". I mean, what could and all powerful Diety need with so much cash? Is he making weekend trips to Vegas with those Senior Citizens groups? And if so, would YOU trust a man, that spends so much time at the Casino, only to leave needing more money??? Seems kinda shady to me.
Best bet: Worship the Sun, and pray to Joe Pesci.

in my own opinion it all boils down to having your own faith, your own spirituality...your own beliefs and as long as you are a good person, with minimal "sins" as the Christians would put it...as long as you learn from your sins and do NOT KEEP DOING THEM and keep asking for forgiveness over and over, like a freaking moron...as long as you do not cause harm to others, take care of yourself, your children and the earth and animals...then you will be accepted into heaven, paradise, the summerlands...etc. I do believe that you do earn brownie points too by helping others, by doing your part in taking care of the Earth, raising your children to be the best people that they truly can be, being a peace keeper, protecting animals etc and that will help you too. It also helps if you don't cram your beliefs down other peoples throats and judge them as if you were God...God doesn't like that!!!!!!!The Creator...whatever label that you want to use made us the way we are...I am sure that She/He/It is having a very hard time dealing with the fact that most wars, no matter how small, are created over personal "human" opinions.
I personally don't need a little black book to tell me to be a good person. I know right from wrong. I act accordingly.

You can do much research on religions but just get confused so best is to study what the Bible teaches and from that you will get a good understanding of what is right and what is wrong. What you decide to do here on earth will determine where you will spend eternity so be wise and pick Life

Whatever religion you want to believe in. There are so many religions, so many options. None of them will ever seem "Right" to the masses, as religion has become something much more personal than it used to be. Religion is being kept secret even, as I know many cases of this where I live.
The "Right" religion, is the one you want to follow.

I believe in a higher power because it seems logical, but i think people try to use that higher power to bend people to there will. So yeah i agree with you basically.
