The internet revolution, I mean. Never before have children had access to such a wealth of knowledge and information as the internet and it’s available with just a few left-clicks of mouse button. Religion thrives in situations where information is suppressed like weeds in a garden bereft of sunlight. For 2000 years Christians have been able to manipulate the thoughts and minds of our young with a promise of punishment for sinners, a vengeful god and the crucifixion of a guilt inspiring figure. The internet is young, we’ve barely felt the first ripple of its effect upon society; how will Christianity face this new threat to its dominance?

Christianity hates anything that jeopardizes their foothold on our society. If they had a "live and let live" attitude this world would be a better place (of course everyone should have that attitude), but they choose to judge those that are not of their faith and try to convert you at every turn. I think the information out there for today's youth is great! I know growing up I soaked up every bit of information I could, it is just much easier to gain today.

I hope this new threat diminishes any dominance Christianity has by allowing people a better chance to think for themselves (even if they take their side).

Everyone will be able to find what before only a few Change Agents (Leary, RAW, Crowley) have been able to experience before. It's been accellerated by the Net. Even Christianity is modernizing. You have a few dinosaurs, mostly on TV wearing polyester leisure suits and asking for you money, but the future is coming and we're heading exponentially fast into it. And your brain must keep up. What once took psilocibin, (for the hippies) is now common, the ammount of info each new generation can take in is exciting and amazing.

Christians are not one perosn or one mind or one being. They are all reunited in the Christ and in the love of God, yes, but maybe the ones that bother you aren't real Christians but figures trying to ruin the Christianity image. However, Christianity is a religion that has been in evolution and never pulled anyone back or down for the sake of power but for the Sake of their own salvation, and if at times the church was corrupted, it does NOT mean that Christianity is bad, this is just some ppl even though they were in control. Christ is salvation, He is Love, Forgiveness and Joy and not guilt and whatever u said...
Besides, u should know about something before talking about it and obviously u don't! Christianity is not the religion that holds ppl down and prevent them from living by terroizing them.. Think deeply and reserach well before u judge..

Let's hope the children of the revolution are smart enough to keep the internet open and neutral. That's the only way to get the information out there.

Christianity has always opposed learning and education, and I'm afraid we're going to have fearful, narrow-minded people for a long time. As easy as it is to use technology to expand your mind, it can also be used to make your world small and insular. I know plenty of people with Direct TV that watch nothing but Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver reruns. You have to be smart enough to go get the information and then brave enough to use it.

Let's hope this generation coming up has critical thinking skills.

The two biggest uses of the Internet are diametrically opposed to each other- genealogy and pornography.

Genealogy results in the saving of the souls of those who have gone on and did not have a chance to hear the true Gospel and have their saving ordinances done.

Pornography results in addiction, destroyed families, and unnatural perversions.

That is why true Christians are wary of the Internet. Yes there is good information there, and we use it all the time, but we also have to be on our guard as there is wrong information and Satan constantly throws things at us unexpectedly and tries to tempt us to look at soul-destroying things.

And true Christians do not fear God, but love Him and realize He is only interested in our happiness, and wickedness never was happiness! He sent His Son to save us, knowing that, as sinners, we would be unworthy of returning to Him, but through Christ's sacrifice, we would be able to have our sins remitted. If that isn't love, then I don't know what is.

If you had a home and some people tried to take it away from you, would you not fight to keep it? It's the same situation, but horrible anology. (Im not good at them)

Christians hold close to what they believe in. They want their children to feel the protection and safety they find in their lord. With all the religious options now thanks to the internet people are finding religions (or lack thereof) that suit their personal wants and needs.

Modern science will continue to prove that religion evolved from the God Yahweh's scientific based teachings that mankind gave a religious meaning to. You can say you heard it first right here on the Internet from me The Chosen One.

Well, it's like you said. There is an information gold mine to be gotten. We would ask that you first read a Bible though to grasp the basics of what Christians talk about. As for the Internet it is not all-knowing like the Living God is. As you peruse objectively websites of opposite views we are happy. If you only check out websites that support your own bias, well then, you can't change human nature and prejudice to your own bias.

Hello my sweet Desiree.. :)

If ~Love~, peace, joy, kindness, gentleness, forgiveness is manipulating anyone.."Please" show me..how should we raise our children..

Do we not all here, tell our children, that if they commit a crime..they may go to jail..or if commit murder..they may receive the death penalty..

(Our Law clearly states if we steal we will be punished..if we kill someone..we will be punished)

Would you consider the Judge in any of the cases above.. being vengeful or is he following the Law..

===============================================

The Bible says: we are not to steal, murder etc..("Ten Commandments" God's Law)

If one continues to steal, kill etc..then they will go before the "Judge" God and then you must plead your case before His court..

Would you consider the Judge in any of the situations above.. being vengeful or is he following the Law..

Can anyone tell me what is the difference, in the two..

My dear sweet Desiree..

I write this to you with no criticism at all intended.. but only ~Love~ in my heart for you.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love~ In Christ.. :)

I think people who are hate-filled are more of a threat to children of the revolution. I'd really be scared of people who tried to fill children's minds with the message that all Christians are evil and that "this is war." (between Christians and atheists...as you have said).
It is not a war at all.

We are to live in peace.
