This question is right up my alley, but I don't have a whole lot of time (I'm supposed to be having lunch with a friend, and I need to start getting ready in a few minutes). I'll come back later with some resources for you to check into, rather than writing out all the evidence I'm aware of.
Fact is, I could write a book with everything I've learned. Actually, that's what I'm planning on doing. Give me a couple hours, k?
Edit: Okay, I'm back. Before I take this plunge, I want to give a little background on me: I was raised in a Christian home. When I was seven, I "became a Christian" after hearing a hellfire and brimstone sermon. For six years, I swallowed all my doubts, because I was so afraid of going to hell. Finally, when I was thirteen, I became an atheist. For thirteen years after that, I did a LOT of research into different religions, and for a time (six years) I was into a form of Wicca. I didn't go "by the book." What I was looking for was the source of it all. I thought I was done when I started practicing witchcraft. I was wrong.
Anyway, on to answer your question, now that you know a little about me. I'll try to keep this as short as possible, so I'm going to ask that you try to read between the lines, because I'm not going to explain the implications of every little thing. I'm also not going to deal with the Old Testament, because to be honest with you, that's the part of the Bible I have the most trouble with. And just to warn you, I don't deal with scientific evidence either. I can't stress the importance of this phrase enough: "Science can make no comment on the supernatural." Science can't prove there is a God, or that the events in the Bible happened. It's up to circumstantial evidence (including second-hand and first-hand testimony), history, and archaeology to prove whether the Bible is factual or not. And there's PLENTY of that!
For your consideration:
1. The New Testament was written between around 50 A.D. (some estimate closer to 45 A.D.) and 95 A.D. That is only seventeen to 62 years after the events took place. It seems like a huge amount of time, right? It's not. That was within a time when eyewitnesses were still alive. Also consider that the history of Alexander the Great is considered accurate, yet nothing was written of him until more than two hundred years after his death.
2. Several of the writers of the New Testament were willing to die for their beliefs. I know, lots of people are willing to die for their beliefs. However, not too many people are willing to die a horrible death for something they KNOW is a lie.
3. People were willing to be apostates, in order to follow Jesus. In our society, it's not unusual for someone to change religions three times in a month. But back THEN, it was a HUGE DEAL (caps for emphasis only). If they were wrong, they were condemned by YHWH, AND they had lost their family and most of their friends...and for what? A "false" Messiah? The earliest followers of Jesus Christ had to be SURE of what He was before they followed Him. So they must have been, otherwise they wouldn't have been willing.
4. Luke was a top-notch historian and physician for his time. Even historians of now esteem his writings. NOTHING he wrote has been disproven, though there has been doubt over the last two hundred years. However, most of that has been countered by recent archaeological discoveries that corroborate his testimony.
There is so much more, but I'm about to go to bed. May I suggest some reading material that goes more in-depth?
Anything by Lee Strobel. Also check into his sources: Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler, Michael Behe, Chuck Colson, and J.P Moreland, to name a few.
Josh McDowell is a good one as well, and I also recommend reading his sources. There are too many to list here.
C.S. Lewis, Thomas Aquinas, Saint Augustine, Ralph Muncaster, and John P Ashton, Ph.D. are also good ones.
I wish you the best of luck, and urge you to NOT give up your search!

Dago you have faulty logic , if any .
First of all you are comparing a human psychological feeling with an entity that is "assumed " to exist by others without any scientific proof . So what you are saying esentially is that "god" is a feeling . And all the other Mumbo Jumbo such as the OT , NT, Book of Latter Day Saints, Dianetics , The Quo'ran anr pretty much meaningless in terms of defining or understanding god .
Yet even the feeling of love can be scientifically measured by a brain scan . And the degree of love , even the type , can be measured in what that person is willing to sacrafice for the object of their love . And yes , some people are in "love" with god , or the image they have of god .
By contrast , NO scientific priniple can be applied to determing the existance of god . Everyone agrees on that . Now the problem is defining the "image of god" . The OT doesn't make him a very nice person . Drowning the world in a flood and such. Looking around at the world , if you assume this is his best work , it is not too flattering . Puppies get run over by cars , Lambs get eaten alive by wolves , Babies get ripped to shreads in tornados , Good people die in tall buildings on fire , hearts stop for no reason at all . God just didn't do too good a job here !
In fact No religion can make a case for a god that is all powerful AND all good . So what kind of god would you have me worship ? Usually it turns out to be one where the people find all sorts of excuses and stretched meanings in their holy books . The Christians are just as bad in the fallicy of their religion as the Muslims , Scientologists , Mormons , or any other group that likes to pretend that there is an all powerful and good god .
Chennae.. , you are young and have been deceived . There is just a sliver of evidence that Jesus ever existed . It is more likely that he is a compilation of "Messiah Figures" put together to form the Catechism of the New Testament . Google up some facts for yourself . There is NO proof that there is a "GOD" and therefor even less evidence that Jesus ,IF he existed ,was the son of god . I know this whole religion thing feels warm and fuzzy like Santa giving you a puppy . I wish it were true . But it is just another myth .
Reply to The _Cricket :
1. Just because something was written 50 years or so after the events took place does not mean it is accurate or factual . In fact when the Catholic NT was being put together as much as 95% of the available documents were dismissed ( and mostly destroyed - read The Lost Gosples ) because they were not "suitable for the new Catholic religion being put together by Paul and Constantine .
2. Lot's of people have been willing to die a horrible death for what they belive in , even though it is a lie ( Think Jim Jones , Think Nazis , Think Kamakazi pilots , Think Muslim suicide bombers ) . That is your arguement : If they believed enough to die for it then it must true . ITHINK NOT !
3. The same false reasoning as #2 ( above) . You say that if they followed Jesus , they must have been really sure so that proves it's truth . I THINK NOT ! Besides in the time period you are referring to the Jewish OT prophesized a Messiah . There is historical writings that support that there were lots of people turning to various "messiahs" within the Jewish community . John the Baptist was one .
4. Once again you reasoning is faulty . How does one disprove something that has NOT happened . I can tell you that the day before my friend died , he flew around the bedroom whilr playing the Star Spangled Banner on his toenails . PROVE it didn't happen ! Furthermore there is no proof that the writings of Luke were not modified to "fit" the Paul/Constantine Catholic NT . And if fact there is some reason to believe it was .

As has been said, there is no scientific evidence. I say scientific evidence because I know that is what you are looking for. If you wanted any other evidence you would accept the fact that a person's beauty or even free, wild will would be enough evidence of a loving god.

Christian beliefs are about the soul and the spirit. Not sure how you can examine the quality of them except maybe by observing lifestyle, actions. Maybe going to a Christian church will give you the evidence you need. Maybe you'll be able to take some of it home and examine it in yourself to see if there is something to it.

Go to your calendar and look at the date.
The present system of dating has been accepted by the whole world as evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ, since the calendar begins on the estimated date of the birth of Christ.
The same calendar will also end on the day that Christ returns.
Then go here:
http://www.vatican.va
Here, you will find a sovereign country that constitutes the oldest, continuous government on the planet earth, which has preserved most of what the world knows to be true about Jesus Christ, much of it eye witness testimony, and which has made it available to all, for free.
Also feel free to peruse the secret Vatican archives, which have recently been opened, so that you and others like you can learn the whole truth, if you choose to do so.
Then, go here, for the largest and most well indexed collection of facts about the who's and why's and when's of Christianity that exists anywhere in the world:
http://www.newadvent.org
These resources provide more documentation on Christianity than is typically available on any other single subject, in any other reference book or books, or on any site or sites, anywhere in the world.
Take the next 10 or 20 years to study it all, and then get back to me with any questions.

i think of in recent times faith has replace into very distorted. I appreciate any and all religions yet using it is been abused. What replace into the unique purpose of religion? in my view it replace into to furnish human beings wish and clarify what might desire to no longer be defined, yet religious extremist have taken that intending to an entire new point and make others have self assurance that what they think of is absolute. The bible isn't meant for use to describe medical examine, it is going for use to assist provide human beings solid morals. in recent times, anybody is very prepared on proving the others incorrect, even nonetheless faith and technology are 2 thoroughly extremely some issues. it is like evaluating an agriculture type and a cooking type, 2 separate issues even nonetheless it ties in to a particular concern. the two are to no longer be in comparison or used to tutor the different is incorrect.

There is no evidence that proves God. There is evidence that can allow one to logically infer that God exists. This is why they should teach religion and creation in schools so at least everyone can know what we are talking about. The secular indoctrination of schools is ridiculous. You can't even engage in a religious conversation.

there is no evidence, even if u saw an angel in front of u and he stabbed u with a stick, u could still not be sure. Imagine going up to a psychiatrist and saying "I saw an angel and he stabbed me with a stick!" You would be in the crazy house in less than 5 mins.
So the only thing we have is faith that god is real.

In Israel about 6 scholars conducted research for years and concluded that only 16 % of Bible is what was told by Jesus. Similarly I have read an article in The Economic Times ,published in India that one group have interviewed many senior Priests and Bishops across u.k. and all of them have confessed that the stories , incidents explained in the Bible are Fictious and they are meant for better understanding of what was told in Bible.
Besides great Yogis in India have confirmed that Jesus has lived in India learning spiritual process like yoga etc from his child hood age of 7 years to 30 years.
