Folliculitis is a bacterial infection. Did your doctor take a scraping of the skin to confirm this? If that was his diagnosis, and the antibiotics didn't work, your doctor is probably a moron.
If you have "bumps" on the back of your thighs and arms, that isn't folliculitis. Its a condition called hyperkeratosis pilaris. Its harmless, most doctors beleive it's genetic. There isn't really a treatment for it, but for most people it fades away as you get older. Do a google or yahoo search and see if it matches your symptoms.

I've heard that some claim the problem can be related to diet and the inability of the system to deal with certain foods . If shaving the hair and the application of antibiotics doesn't work maybe a custom smear can be taken by your Dr. for the lab to work up a specific antibotic. This worked for my brother with a staph infection which never returned otherwise I suggest looking into hydration and a vegetarian based diet .

yeah...if its not an infection then try using a lotion that you can get from the pharmacy at Wal-mart called Am-lactin. They usually have it behind the counter of the pharmacy and you will have to ask for it...but you don't need a prescription for it anymore. My son and I used to get the little bumps, we now use it and its made it all smooth!! It took it all away. Its about 13 dollars but its worth every cent. I have also heard that is caused by toxins in the system too...so you could try doing a toxin flush on your body if it still doesn't work.
