I had a Canadian friend recently marry a guy from New York. It took months for the papers to process. You have to get a physical exam, go through an interview and fill out loads of paperwork to be processed in order to be allowed a visa to come to the US and get married and then you have to get married within a certain time. If I were you I'd google it to see what you have to do to be allowed in the states to marry. Yes you'll become a US citizen once you're married and in the end I think it's faster to do that then to become a citizen and then get married. See if there's an email address to his local courthouse and email them or call them. Or he could call. They should know what you need to do. You could also call your local courthouse/clerk's office. While you don't plan to marry there, they should still have the information.

Each city, county, or town in the USA has a Courthouse, City Hall, or a Magistrate's Office, with a Justice of the Peace, a Magistrate, a Constable, a Judge, a Sheriff or a Police Capt..

In any of these facilities, they have papers and forms to process civil ceremonies (marriages by law). Some have various requirements; proof of age, proof of residence, medical releases, or waiting times following specific medical tests.

I would think it will be quite easy for you to find a place to get married in a civil ceremoney as soon as you enter this country.

Good Luck and have a wonderfully grand ceremony at a later time.

As far as I know, Civil marriages in the States are solemnized through City Hall. Have your boyfriend talk to his local City Hall and see what they advise. Hope this helps.
