Probably in our time we wont suffer that much tragedy but our childrens generation will if we dont do something so drastic right now to reverse this effect.

I cant believe how many people are falling for the hype over global warming. The amount the planet has warmed is so little. This planet has warmed and cooled and warmed and cooled and we have survived it somehow.

Who is to say this is the best ideal tempature for humanity to live in? During periods of global warming in history farming flourished and was actually benefitial to humanity.

30 years ago the scientists insisted we were in a global cooling trend and that we were headed twds the next ice age. Maybe its good the planet is getting warmer if it reversed this ice age we almost fell into.

Al Gore had NO business getting the Nobel Peace Prize. What a joke.

Danielle,
Didnt you watch the Day After Tomorrow. The world is going to freeze not burn. That movie is just as credible as your crazy sky is falling theory.

I think that mankind is a very powerful race. Mankind has destroyed forests, lakes and many other natural environments. If that wasn't enough WE continue to polute the environment with petrol and gasses. We can't change that, if you asked an average person to surrender thier car you're likely to be laughed at. The damage is done and more and more of it is destroying our world bit by bit. Dinosaurs and sharks lived 65'000'000bc years ago we are in the year 2008ad. We've got a bit of catching up to do before we are as succesful as the dinosaurs or sharks. And look at us. Look at what we've done. The fact that we are destroying the environment means that we are also destroying the chances of becoming the most succesful race in this earths history. We are going to have to settle with a tiny medal, we won't even be on the podium at this rate. We will watch on as dinosaurs and sharks are presented with a big trophy and a pat on the back. I personally think that religion is part of Mankinds downfall. Before everyone starts booing and hissing at me I want to point out that religion is the cause of many wars a conflicts and with every bullet another life is flushed down the toilet. Think about it. Did dinosaurs have religion or wars? Did sharks go to church or eat each other?
The answer is NO. Mankind got this crazy idea to brainwash the world population with the existance of a king up in the sky, an after life, a paradise were one will go once one has died.Once again, think about it! How can a location hovver in the sky, let alone have enough space for the billions of people that have all died?

With mankinds inventions that shouldn't of been invented, and the discoveries that shouldn't of been discovered, we ARE all going to be underwater someday. It is important to know that mankind will probably come to an end even if it takes a billion billion years after global warming. WE, as in your genre and my genre are going to live, but it's our great grreat great great great great great relatives that we need to think about. Who will be around in the Henrard family to witness the end of the world as we know it? Same question goes out to the world population.

My answer:
Maybe, even if we aren't beaten by climat change, we'll be beaten elsewhere.
People need to drop thier bibles, that are just a book that has enough power to make people turn savage and kill thier own race, and start thinking about facts and what they can do to make our time on this earth as long as possible. We have the technology. We just need to know how to use it. If we don't, we are beaten by some enormous lizards and some big fishies. Do you want that?
I didn't think so.

Hope I helped.

haha No. Just read your ancient history and your fears will be put to rest. This has happened 4 times before. We aren't the cause of it. The moon is heating up and now has a natrium atmosphere. Mars is doing the same thing. The sun is what is causing all the warming up. It isn't us.

Well according to Christians there is no global warming...its just God screwing with us. It has nothing to do with the scientifically proven fact that carbon levels in the air are higher than they have ever been. Sarcasm aside, if we do something about it then no we won't die, if we continue to dismiss it as a problem(like the Christians are doing) then yes it will probably kill off most of us.

i don't think it's going to be an apocalypse, but on the other hand i wouldn't suggest investing in beach-front property, it may get a little damp in a few decades. even without global warming there will be war, disease and famine - no one can say for certain what will happen.

Only if global cooling doesn't get us first. Or nuclear war. Or species extinction. Or... I'm sorry. What are the other currently-trendy doomsday scenarios again?

Due to family history, I am more likely to die from cancer much sooner. It's genetics, can't do a thing about it.
