My car was side swiped while parked in a parking lot. The person left their insurance information and all is fine but does their insurance have to pay for my rental car? Also do I get a rental car comparable to my car? I'd say a midsize SUV like a ford explorer is comparable to my Acura MDX

yes, their insurance will pay for a rental. it is NOT up to your company to pay for this. What type of car you get depends on how much they have on their policy. If they have $15 a day, thats what car you get. If they have $50 a day, then you are going to get a nicer car. Call the persons insurance and get the claim number and adjusters name. They should set you up for picking up a rental.

I was in an accident in December and needed a rental car. It took a few days for the liable insurance company to authorize a rental, but once they did, we were able to get a rental and the insurance company (of the at fault driver) paid for it. If you have rental car insurance through your insurance company, they can pay for it, but will eventually go after the other insurance company to pay them back.

You do not get a car rental comparable in size to your vehicle, sorry. They will give you one of the cheapest cars.

I hope this helps.

Their insurance should pay for a comparable rental car while yours is in the shop if they were at fault. You are the one being inconvenienced by their driver hitting you. If they give you a hard time, go through your own insurance or pay for it yourself and get your insurance company to go after them to get reimbursed. Most insurance companies limit rental coverage to 30 days.

they many times in basic terms ask for a deposit in case you are able to not produce a mastercard. in case you do not have a mastercard, can't arise with the deposit, or placed the deposit on a relative's card, then you definately might attempt a diverse condominium enterprise (a lease-a-wreck place may be much less complicated to handle). Or lease a vehicle from a chum--in case you get the owner to entice up a bill with the VIN style of the motor vehicle, the days it substitute into rented and the owner's SSN, the coverage enterprise will in all threat pay it--rather in the event that they can charge you below corporation.

Normally, it will pay for A car rental. You don't get like for like, you get wheels. Usually, they allow $25 to $30 per day for a rental. Any overage is YOUR responsibility.

No, they don't, if you don't have rental car reimbursement on your insurance policy, that's your problem. But, you could always take that person to small claims court for reimbursement of your fees that insurance doesn't cover.
