What is the right age to tell your kids there is no Santa....My kids are almost 7 and almost 8. My daughter asked if me and my fiance get up in the middle of the night to put presents uner the tree...I said yes the one's that we get you because we want to suprise you...she just looked at me like uh huh. What do you think??

My kids have never believed in Santa and still have the same sparkle in their eye when they wake up to all the gifts on Christmas morn. They probably have already been told at school about the Santa thing. If not it will not be long.

Well my 11 year old son did until he was maybe 8 1/2. He creeped down the stairs and spotted me & my husband putting presents under the tree.I also have a 9 year old son,but i don't want to take something away that he believes in.I think he knows that there's no santa...He likes believing.

She is starting to question it, chances are she already knows. When I was 8, I knew that there wasn't a Santa, but I played along until I was about 10. Then they heard me talking on the phone telling one of my friends how funny it is. THey found out! I guess it was a good thing.

I won't ever tell mine there isn't a Santa. The oldest probably knows (she tells me "I know you're Santa," and laughs) but I still won't ever admit there isn't one. LOL
I mean they'll figure it out but I'll be wrapping gifts from Santa even when they are off and married and have families of their own. It's just one of those little Holiday Magical Things.

i think once your child is smart enough to figure it out on their own then you should start telling them the truth. you should let them know it changes nothing in the process of your traditonal christmas. just that santa was something to make it more exciting. or perhaps now is the time to really introduce your religion into the situation if you havent already. sorry not sure what religion you are. hope that helps ^_^

at that age, i still believed - yes i was very naive. People at school will be telling them 'no Santa isnt real'.
i would say she doesnt believe any more.
tell her at the age of 9. i would say- by then they probably already know, and are only pretending to believe so that they can get more presents!
trust me - i've been there, done that!
good luck!

I never really told my oldest 2 kids, they sort of figure it out on their own. My youngest will be 8 in January and she still believes or at least she says she does lol. The way I see it, let them be kids as long as they can, they dint stay small long.

You don't ever have to admit he's not real. After all, the spirit (not like "ghost," but like "intent") of Santa is VERY real--after all, we give presents just like he does and continue the tradition started by an old man centuries ago.

I think you should let your kids figure it out by themselves. Just wait, usually kids find out this kind of stuff from their Friends. Don't take away something special like this, have patience.
