A drink or two a day is actually good for you, just be careful of that one or two turning into six or ten or more every night.
When you use alcohol (or any other drug) to unwind, for sleep, or for social anxiety, it often happens that it begins to take more to achieve the desired effect.

it is not the amount of alcohol you consume that makes you an alcoholic it how the alcohol effects you. alcohol is a drug and even though it is legal and you are of age to drink it still does not alter the fact that it is a mood altering drug.
most alcoholics started out with just one or two drinks and build up to where they cannot drink in moderation.
if you are asking this question then you probably have some insight that is telling you that you have a NEED for beer not you want a beer. there is a big difference...what would happen if you are in a situation where you can't have your beer? how does that effect your mood?
many alcoholics are functioning alcoholics and can still work and function but sooner or later the addiction takes its toll.
being a "little bit alcoholic" is like being a little bit pregnant.
most addicts say the same thing..i am only doing this to ease the (pain?_( stress? whatever the excuse is...at least you have shown some honesty with yourself..in the end only you know the answer to your condition..alcohol is very cunning and bafflilng..smart people are just as much prone to this "disease" as anyone else in society...

You're right to be concerned-feeling that you "need" a drink is one of the signs of alcoholism.
I don't think you have a problem right now, but if you start having to drink more, or obsessing on those couple of beers you might get worried at that point.

the only person who knows if you have a problem is you it is not the amount that we drink it is the need if you can not go a week without it or if you feel that your life is unmanageable than you mite have a problem try and do a few days without and see what happens see if jogging or some other activity relaxes you than you are fine but if that does not work than try AA but only if you have a desire to stop good luck hope this helps

No, that is called relaxing. If you are running home because of the beer, then you MAY have a problem. Or you may have a special beer that you want to try.
I think a problem would be slamming a half liter of Vodka when you get home a problem.

You are self-medicating in order to deal with stress. You are headed for alcohol dependency and possibly alcoholism. You should be exercising and working on eating better in order to deal with stress.
What happens after awhile is the two beers will no longer relax you because your body will be accustomed to that amount and then the two will become three and three four and on and on.
Then you will be an alcoholic, and having to get treatment in order to get your health and life under control.
Drinking alcohol right before going to sleep will not cause you to have a restful sleep and you will also start to gain weight around your mid section.
You have taken a great first step by asking about this before it gets totally out of hand, now you need to replace the beer with other stress busters.
Best of luck and God Bless you.

Try doing without it a couple of times a week. If this is a real struggle, you may have a problem.
There are many healthy ways of dealing with stress at work.

If you're asking this question then maybe you should talk to someone (family, your doctor, a counselor.) You shouldn't need a beer or two everyday. If you do then yes that is dependancy. There are several forms of alcoholism. No one on here can tell you whether you are or not. You need to talk to someone in your life.
Good Luck!

It's a progressive problem so you need to check in with yourself...
Your consumption is low and sounds like a relaxation thing after a long day; very common.
If it elevates or increases then you need to ask yourself why.

If you are unable to go without it ...then you are an alcoholic. If you can go a number of days without your 'fix' then it isn't a problem. Sounds to me like you have a problem.
