You have a beautiful face and you have acne. Please don't put yourself down by linking the two. Acne is a treatable medical condition for which you should seek advice from your doctor. Depending on how severe your particular form of acne is, your doctor may refer you to a skin specialist (dermatologist) for more appropriate treatment. I advise you to seek help with your acne if you feel it is a problem for you. Good luck!

Clean your face at least 2 times a day with a good product and USE A WASHCLOTH. A lot of people think washing with cleanser or soap and water with their hands cleans the skin. Well, it just moves the stuff around and washes off a bit, but you need a wash cloth to pull the dirt and oils from the skin onto the cloth. The one thing you want to avoid is soap, since most types strip the skin of all natural oils. Using a glycolic acid or salicylic acid product coupled with a light oil-free moisturizer containing a sunscreen. Yes, even oily skin needs a moisturizer : )
If you can, see a dermatologist. There are prescribed medications that can help clear your skin in a relatively short time, both oral and skin care product.
You still need to keep your face as clean as possible. But don't over wash -- twice a day is enough. Good luck!

I've suffered from severe acne since the age of 12 and i've still got them and i'm now 24, despite what some people will make out there is no easy cure or miracle cream for them, nothing my doctor has given me over the years has worked and even my Dermatologist has run out of things to give me, its ruined my self confidence as I feel ugly and not lady like at all, and the insensitive comments from some of the morons on here doesn't help, how old are you, if you are still in your teens then they may go away eventually of their own accord, though that doesn't help now, go to your GP who will give you some antibiotics to try and some cream, make sure you use the cream for a few months before deciding its not working as they can take a while to work, if none of this works for you then you can ask to see a dermatologist who may recommend a drug called Roaccutane (or Accutane as its known in America) however it is VERY strong, and you have to have various tests once a month as they can have several side effects, I couldn't have them as they are linked to suicide and as my confidence as at an all time low already it was decided it was best for me not to take them as I probably would have ended up jumping off the side of a cliff, also they do clear up the spots intially but the spots can return once you come off the drug and you can't keep on the drug forever as its too dangerous, you could try natural herbal alternatives, visit a herbal speacialist/shop and get advice as to what to take, I'm currently taking zinc capsules as Zinc is known to promote healthy skin, in the mean time cover up the redness by using a Witch Hazel concealer which unlike most foundations won't make them worse, though be careful when using creams at the same time as they can mix and have nasty side effects on your skin, don't be tempted to wear foundation/heavy make-up as it will only make them worse and don't use facial washes that dry out your skin making your face over compensate by making too much oil and thus making spots even worse, good luck!

Try using products with tea tree oil. It has natural antiseptic abilities and can kill the bacteria that cause pimples. Granted it takes a while to work. There is no quick fix for chronic acne. It takes time. Also, try drinking a glass of water with half a lemon's juice squeezed into it every morning. This helps clean toxins out of your body. For me, sunlight also helps. I find I had more breakouts when I didn't get much sun. Don't use regular soap to wash your face as it can contribute to breakouts. I use a tea tree oil foaming face wash. It works great! Don't use towels or pillow cases washed in detergent and treated with fabric softener. Use hot water and a grease-cutting dish soap, preferably all natural, instead. Change your pillow case every day until your face starts to clear up. After that you may be able to go 2 or 3 days before changing it. Make sure you wash your hair everyday if it also gets greasy easily. Don't use shampoos with panetol as it's great for hair, but bad for the skin. I have found that natural products work much better than chemically based products as they are not as harsh to the skin. I suffered from acne for 15 years and tried all the pills and creams and lotions, but nothing worked until I went for natural remedies. Good luck!

I'm sure you have a beautiful face with some "horrible pimples". Firstly have you given Pro Active a go? I'm 40 and wish I had found it years ago! Dermatologist and Doctors have so may more products to help with these days even for hormonal skin problems. Don't loose heart, look around you will find something.
PS. If you wear concealer you need to bite the bullet and stop using it to help break the cycle

Wash your face several times a day with right cleanser. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water everyday. Avoid touching your face all the time and avoid picking pimples.
Inlcude fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and vitmain E in your diet. Ex: citrus fruits, carrots, dark leafy vegetables, cucumber, berries, tomatoes, apples.
If the problem is serious, consult a dermatologist.

DON'T Use PROACTIVE!!!!
A friend had his face break out worse!
Go see an epidermist to diagnoss what type of skin you have oily or not and the treatment...If you use any astringents you could be drying out your face more than fighting the acne..
Avoid takeing pills for it also ..Another thing keep away form certain foods.....They play a role in what clogs your pores....
Good look with the ance..

Try an antibacterial face wash but don't be too overzealous with your washing, benzoyl peroxide applied on a thin layer at night, tea tree oil and if those over the counter remedies don't work, go to your doctor and try topical or oral antibiotics, retin - a, or in extreme cases accutane.

1) Get a blood test - especially hormone profile to make sure everything is ok.
2) Use a mild anti bacterial scrub.
3) Last resort - a Glycolic Acid peel or Laser therapy - contact Harley Medical Group (UK)

you can try Apple Cidar Vinegar, I like the organic type. Mix it with 2 or 3 parts water to one part vinegar....pat it onto your face before washing, twice a day. It worked for the acne my son had. It works for me whenever I feel something growing on my face I use it and it's usually all gone the next day. And it's MUCH cheaper than Pro-Active. It can't hurt to try. You can get the non organic in any grocery store in US and organic in Health stores. Good luck, stick with it and you'll get there.
