If you are familiar with Orange County you might have heard of Mariposa Bridal. I found a dress that I liked for $1158 . I just went to Alfred Angelo which is about $300 cheaper but because their is only four and a half months till the wedding I have to pay extra for faster shipping. I was wondering if the shops I see in the area like mom and pop shops or shops i see in certain districts are cheaper in price and are they good quality. Please let me know if you have any experience with this.

I think it depends on WHAT they carry - they products and designers, and if they are reputable business people. Check out Castle for Brides in Westminster - been there for a long time

I've only been to one "mom and pop" store and they had pretty reasonable prices. Then for the big bridal stores they are all different. One of them had a range from $500 - over a $1,000,then there was one that only carried high end designers.
Just depends on where you go, so good for you for looking around!

Probably some of the most reasonably priced bridal gowns I've seen are at Target and/or JCPenney. See links above.

I do personally know people who purchased their gowns thru JCPenney, and they were very happy with both the gowns and the prompt service.

So perhaps bigger stores can sometimes be better? Or at least less expensive?

Try Ferndales Bridal in the city of Orange. It is family owned and they have a wide range of designers and styles for any budget. They also carry bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses.
