Taking the Gideon bible from the hotel room is not stealing... Inside the cover of each bible is a card telling the reader to feel free to take the bible with them should they choose to do so...

Yes. But the Gideons don't seem to mind if people take Bibles out of hotels. They'd rather have people reading the Bible than letting it gather dust inside a drawer.

To my knowledge, no one has ever stolen a christian bible from a hotel or motel room since they're there for the taking.
