What will happen if I don't pay my parking ticket?
I got it in LA. Do I only have two choices, pay or fight?
Thanks! :)

Parking tickets in California are quasi criminal. They are usually handled more like a civil dispute. They are not backed by arrest warrants. You would have to do something amazing to get arrested for not paying parking tickets. You won't be able to register your vehicle when it comes due. Your vehicle may be impounded and held until you pay the ticket and you may get a negative hit on your credit score. You can fight the ticket but again, you aren't given the same rights in court because it isn't really a criminal allegation. You have to prove you are innocent. It isn't "Innocent until proven guilty."
Pay the ticket otherwise you'll have to pay it plus penalty.
Good Luck

If you fail to pay your parking tickets a warrant can be issued for your arrest and your car can be towed.
It is usually not worth fighting the parking ticket unless you have a solid case. Many jurisdictions have an appeals process, where you lodge a challenge. There will be number on the ticket you can call for more information.
If you have flat broke you can also call them and see about paying in installments.

Simple, when you try to renew your driver's license or car tags, you will be flagged, and you will NOT get these items, until you pay the ticket plus accrued fines. Do the smart thing, pay them now.

The fine just keeps getting higher and higher and eventually you will get a boot. Best bet is to pay it.

The fines will increase, and they will be turned over to a collection agency, and could keep you from renewing your license plates. Did I mention the Boot?.

In LA they put you on your knees in front of the Materhorn on Saturday afternoons and blow your brains out.
