Do you think monotheist religions, (one God) will ever reach a point in history where they will become outdated with something new? Similar to the way a pantheon of gods and goddesses were replaced by a major shift to monotheism.

Just as the religions of the past were used to explain the "unexplainable" like hurricanes and stars, todays religions are used to explain what happens after death and the creation of the earth. When science comes far enough and we know the truth of these things, these religions will be obsolete and we will have new ones to explain the new questions we come up with.

I'm sure they will. But I suspect their replacement won't be just some other religion. I think humans will have radically different ideas of how the world and society works 1000 years from now, just as we think much differently than we did 1000 years ago.
