If someone believes in a different god, they are decieved by Satan. If we find something against Christianity, it was planted by Satan. If a Christian leaves Christianity, they were led astray by Satan. He just seems to be a neat little loophole doesn't he?

He's a necessary evil. If you're going to divide the world into these artificial dichotomies that have nothing to do with life or Nature, then an absolute good must have an absolute evil to explain why life isn't perfect without blaming the one that's supposed to be all good. Every coin has two sides. Of course, the world isn't a coin. It has many facets and shades.

They need a 'satan' because they want to control behavior, and they need fear to do that. They don't want people thinking for themselves, so they've got this bad guy who gets them in trouble for trying to question any of the rules. You aren't bad - 'satan' deceived you! The word is perfect - don't question it! That's 'satan' telling you it doesn't make
sense! Do you want to go to Hell?!

It's all about concrete thinking. Black and white. They try to keep people from developing abstract thought, because then, the threat becomes less immanent. You start to realize that some of those scriptures really don't make sense and consider that there may not be a hell or a satan, and they can't have that. If you doubt, you aren't going to give your kids to die in a war against people that did nothing to you. People who would never kill or torture under normal circumstances will do and be proud of it if they think 'god' is on their side.

People who can admit that they might be wrong won't strap a bomb to themselves and go onto a public bus; they won't bomb a village on the other side of the world, or shoot unarmed people or do any of those things that make war profiteers so rich no matter who wins.

It's such a perfect circle of non-logic and it make so few people so very rich...

This is one thing (of several) about Christianity that irks me and is why I could never call myself apart of it. It seems that with everything a person does/thinks/decides is either due to Satan or God. People take no responsibility for themselves. If someone does wrong - legally or morally - he/she was "led astray by Satan". Then said person claims to have found Jesus and is now saved. How convent. Instead of realizing it's actually the ~individuals~ fault and up to him/her to not only pay the price, but make amends and prove themselves worthy of respect again.

I feel people need to stop pinning everything on "Satan" and step up to the plate and take individual responsibility. Maybe this way, Christians may see that not everything pinned on Satan is really bad - such as worshiping another god besides the Hebrew one.

"De Debil made me do it! De DEBIL made me do it!"

The Christian perspective is that God has given us His Son who said "I am the ONLY way to the Father. Anybody trying to enter by any other means will be treated as a thief and a robber and cast into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth."

The point is that IF Jesus truly IS who he claimed to be, and not some lunatic "on the same level as someone who thinks he's a poached egg" (C.S. Lewis), then any and every other religion or non-religion is wrong. The idea here is that if it is not of God, then it is of the enemy, who first deceived Eve with lies about God, and has continued to lie about God ever since.

If, however, Jesus is NOT the Son of God, then - hey - he's - well, as crazy as someone who thinks he's a poached egg, when you look at everything he said about himself. I mean, who goes around claiming to be the very God who spoke with Abraham 5,000 years ago as Jesus claimed? Did he? Or is he absolutely delusional?

Whatever else we say about him, we can not patronize him by saying that he is merely another good man, or prophet sent from God. He didn't leave us room for that kind of attitude.

So, if Jesus truly IS who he claimed to be, then - as I already pointed out - every other religious perspective has to be a lie, and since satan is the father of all lies (according to Jesus), then it leaves you with only one conclusion.

Deceipt is a dangerous game, but self-deceipt is the worst kind. A person may be simply mistaken, because he was taught as a child to believe a certain way, but if a child is told that chlorox is good to drink, and the child is deceived, does that make the chlorox any safer to drink then if the child deliberately chooses to believe it is safe?

The point is that poison by any other name will still kill you, no matter what you think about it.

So, this is the Christian perspective. I hope this helps you to understand why "satan" is not simply a "catch-all".

Satan is the prince of this world, most Christians do not realize or will not admit this. But this world (earth) is temporary . Satan riegns on earth for now. But Jesus will change that someday. John 12 :31 and 14:30 and 16:11

Well, in my mind, "God" is a term used to name the universal diety that people worship. Jesus, God, Goddess, whomever, to ME (and my personal opinion) its all the same person/energy/being -- just different names & different cultural methods of celebration.

Therefore, to me, Satan, is the antithesis of that 'good energy' named god.

Now... with that said, to answer your question, I think that in the Christian religion you find more of this "blame game" nonsense than you do in many other faiths.

I think its easy to pass the buck and instead of saying "Well god didn't leave that much of an impression on your life to keep you christian" they say "you're led astray by satan."

Its easier, and looks 'better' on that religion, to blame the bad guy instead of letting the good guy just have a short-coming.

it is always a question why christianity ? why god does that ?why satan is a loophole? he is not a loophole but he is the father of all lies and he tries to decieve every one uncluding you and me and every one to gain a soul to take it to hell it is always been like that and Jesus warned us and taught us love truth and the right path so if you read the teachings of jesus you would know that god wants us to live in peace and love and respect one another and to help the needy so who do you think is the cause of the evil God or satan

Hmm... a catch you say? Maybe. Lots of women like men in uniforms. Does he have a good body and long hair?
As of all he's done, there's no doubt that he's powerful - and since all the "earthly" matters seem to get accused of being of satan too, I presume he must be filthy rich.

Now let me see: handsome, powerful, rich, influential...
Yup, definitely a catch.

Yeah, it's always seemed that way to me.

And if you blame him for everything, you're never required to examine your own beliefs or actions.

He's the ultimate excuse.
