Has this happened to anyone? I feel like my nerves are crossed. When I use my hands they seem to mirror each other. When I smoke a cigerette in one hand, the fingers in the other copy the position of the other hand- its an involuntary hand movement. Can anyone offer any advice? Is it very common?

I have no idea what causes this... But I have seen this with a disabled girl that I worked with in high school. Anything she did with one hand, her other would take on the same position, movements or whatever. I used to watch her hands quite a bit, I was interested in how that worked. I don't know if her having brain damage could have played a part, but... it was just interesting to see this.

If you are concerned enough, maybe see a doctor and see if he or she might have any ideas?

First of all, you are probably ambidextrous. This means that you can use both of your hands like a dominant hand. Now, as for mirroring hands, i cannot say in my professional opinion that i have ever seen such an ailment, perhaps you should see your physician if it is causing too much trouble for you.
