hold down the ALT key and press the numbers 0241 or 164 on the numeric keypad (on the right) with Num Lock ON. To make an uppercase Ñ, press ALT + 165 or 0209.

Are you trying to write in Spanish?

I have a mac and the key I use is alt/option + N.

That's what gets the "squiggly line"...

Hope that helps.

In microsoft word, at the very top click on "Insert" and then "Symbol." You will see a dialogue box to choose your font. If for example you choose "Normal Text," then the ñ appears in the 12th row, first column (at least in my version). So this way you can get in microsoft word and then you can copy and paste to get into email. Hope this helps!

If you use Word just go to insert, then symbol, then click on it or put insert.
You can also just hit Ctrl+~,n
You may need to have Num lock on. My computer will never do those.
