Quiet time is a state of mind, you can find it in the middle of chaos, it comes when you let your spirit rise up inside of you.
and when you let your spirit rise, it brings peace.

I personally try to make as much of my life as spiritual as possible. Just because something is mundane does not mean it can't be spiritual as well.
Making dinner? Are you focused on how much time you're using up and all the "more important" things you could be doing? Or are you grateful for the things you are making and the ability to make your family's day better by making a good meal for them?
Car brake down and you have to walk to work? Are you upset and screaming "Why ME?" Or are you enjoying, and appreciating the sunshine, the soft wind and the chance/opportunity to get some exercise (Gods save us from THAT ;) ).
Spirituality shouldn't be something separated from your life. It should be a part of it every minute of the day. Otherwise... what good is it?

Setting a quiet time is just like setting a very important date for "Spirituality" : choose a specific place and time in a day and spend it solely for "Spirituality". You have to be alone in your space where there are not interruptions from people, phone calls or even plain noise around.

You have to schedule it in. Either get up a bit earlier if you're a morning person (I'm not!) or just plan it into your day. A lot of people say it *must* be first thing in the morning, and that's good if you can, but not everyone can do that. Busy mums with kids to get ready for school etc. have to plan a time when they *can* be by themselves in quiet.
It doesn't have to be a full hour--start with 15 min. Jesus would much rather have your full attention for 15 min than an hour in which you're distracted by everything you're not doing.
I usually take time after lunch; my husband is retired and he likes half an hour's rest after his meal. I use that time to read my Bible and be with God. The house is quiet and I can focus on Him.

When things are quiet in the house--others in bed such as earlier in the morning before things get going or later at night when others are in bed. While driving someplace by myself I might pray out loud and/or listen to a Christian radio program or Christian CD. Joining a small Bible study group.

I find it most often,,when I am sitting in my swing, outside under the blue sky and the wonderful smell of Fall, in the air....I find I can talk to God more easily then. I watch my little cats and dog,,run around playing,,,I love to give my little dog a run, about three or four times a day,,it is also my time.....life is good!

I've been trying to wake up really early (before my kids wake up) to read my scriptures and study and spend a little time meditating and praying. It doesn't always happen though but it's nice when it does.

the things I dont take for granted .. that seem oh so simple that many aren't as fortunate.
