Yes, they are nice. Almost as smart as a dog, and they appreciate your attention. They sleep about 20 hours a day, but you have to spend time with them. Mine are litter trained better than my cats. They are fragile. One of mine had an ulcer and a stroke and died last summer.

Hi I have a ferret and I am in the process of adopting another. Ferrets are great animals, if you have about 2 to 3 hours a day to let them run and to play with them they are good pets, if you seem to not have enough time to play but the area to have them you are better off getting 2 of them. Ferrets can live as long as about 10 years. If they have proper nutrition, ferret foods with lots of protien, also you can use meat based baby foods for them mixed with a little water and dry ferret food, it is called soupie, you can find some great recipies at lovingferrets.com. They are meat eaters but I would control what you give them, egg yolks are good, without the egg white. Ferrets can be wonderful pets if you have the time to do it. I have 2 small children and they love our ferret. I would never get another dog or cat! :) Human food is not really that good for them either, maybe a small amount of cooked meats but easy on the salt when you are cooking there is a list of things that are toxic at the site listed above. It is free to join and there are many people with ferrets there that are able to answer any and all questions that you may have...

Ferrets are great! They're not rodents, btw. They're friendly & extremely playful, kinda hyper.
Our ferret lived to be over 7 yrs old. She was litter-trained but it was a *real challenge* to get her to see the box as a toilet & not a playpen (bribes & vigilance eventually worked). They do have a natural odor that some ppl find offensive, but this can be helped by regular baths & maybe a deodorizing spray (made especially for ferrets & found @ many pet shops). Litter-training keeps cage odor down.
There are special ferret foods & treats you can buy, or you can use a really high-quality kitten food. They need daily interaction & love to play. They love toys, & you can use regular cat toys or toys made for ferrets. Our girl would take every small object she could find & hide it in the walk-in closet. She'd also play "tag" with one of our cats, which was one of the sweetest & funniest things I've ever seen.

Well my friend has a weasel and a weasel is a type of Ferret. They are super nice and very smart. And you could probably get it at a pet shop that where my friend got it. Well my friends weasel is not even a year old yet and its pretty big. They eat almost like cat food but its for weasels. I think it a unique pet to have. I love weasel i think they are super cute. If i could get an weasels I would defentily get one.
